When this type of bus duct is installed in a location directly exposed to rain, such as outdoors, the bus duct housing needs to have a water-resistant function in order to protect the internal electrical path.

Conventionally, as a method to satisfy such a function, a method of covering the outside of the housing with a waterproof cover, so-called lane shield, has been generally adopted.

However, the rain shield method increases the size of the entire device, requiring a larger installation space, and heat builds up inside the rain shield, raising the temperature of the bus duct, which causes the allowable current to exceed the rated current. We are at the disadvantage of making it smaller. On the other hand, as a countermeasure for such a rain shield method, an appropriate packing is inserted between the joint surfaces of the housing components, that is, a pair of vertical ducts and the horizontal ducts provided above and below the vertical ducts, and There is a method of bolting the housing so that the housing itself has a water-resistance function as well as the structure of the housing.

However, the packing that has been used in this method has self-elastic force, such as comb packing, and uses its elastic reaction force to obtain adhesion force to the duct. This resulted in an undesirable result in terms of the duct structure, such as curved deformation, which made the work difficult and difficult to adopt.

In addition, as an alternative to packing, a method has been considered in which a waterproof plasticized material such as a silicone compound is interposed and the compound is crimped between the duct joint surfaces while being plastically deformed by bolts, but the compound is difficult to handle. It is relatively troublesome and requires troublesome work such as coating as an intervening means, and above all, there is a problem of deterioration over time, and it is currently difficult to ensure reliable water resistance.

That is, the main point of the present invention is that when a housing is constructed by a pair of vertical ducts having bent portions on the upper and lower side edges and a pair of horizontal ducts provided above and below the vertical duct, a large number of independent air cells are formed. A soft packing having the structure is attached and integrated with the inner surface of the horizontal duct in advance, and the horizontal duct is placed on the bent part of the vertical duct with the soft packing in contact with the bent part, and the soft packing is attached between the horizontal duct and the bent part. The purpose is to construct a water-resistant bus duct by tightening the air cells so that they are crushed.

As described above, in a duct component consisting of a horizontal duct and a vertical duct, a soft packing having a large number of independent air cells is attached in advance to the horizontal duct before assembly, and With such a horizontal duct, the soft packing is placed in contact with the bent part of the vertical duct, and the horizontal duct and the bent part are fastened in such a manner that the air sacs of the soft packing are crushed, thereby crushing the air sacs. Because the small reaction force of the packing itself, which is obtained based on It is easy to perform, and when the duct is fastened, the deformation of the duct that occurs due to the intervention of conventional elastic packing is almost eliminated, allowing the desired water-resistant structure to be provided, making the work extremely simple. There are practical benefits such as being able to obtain reliable water resistance that is hot and difficult to deteriorate.
