殺菌剤を選択する必要があり、汎用性に欠けていた。さ
らに、‐有機殺菌剤の中には該殺菌剤自身が微生物によ
り容易に分解されるものがあり、このような殺菌剤は必
然的にその腐敗防止効果が短期間しか持続しないため、
殺菌剤を頻繁に添加する必要があり、多くの手間やコス
トを要する欠点があった。また、他の殺菌方法として所
定期間使用した金属加工油を比較的高温に加熱して該金
属加工油中の嫌気性菌の殺菌処理を行なうと共に、この
処理によって消失した各種添加剤を補充する方法も知ら
れている。しかし、この方法も前記同様多大のコストを
要する上に、十分な効果が得難いものであった。本発明
者は既に金属加工油を金属コバルトと接触させて腐敗を
防止する方法を提案した(特開昭斑−141297号)
が、この方法の実施に際して特定の設備を必要とするも
のであった。本発明者は、その後研究を続け、このよう
な問題点を解消し、簡便な手段ですぐれた殺菌効果が得
られることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。

明の目的とする効果が得られない。また、水顔性金属加
工油としては、たとえば切削油、圧延油、熱処理油等が
