のである。 In recent years, from the viewpoint of good cushioning performance as automobile bumpers, resilience after impact, and safety against other objects, elastic materials made of elastic materials such as rubber or synthetic resin have been used instead of conventional metal bumpers. Bumpers have come into use. Since this elastic bumper is made of a material such as rubber or synthetic resin, it cannot have the metallic appearance of conventional metal bumpers. Alternatively, it has been proposed to attach a decorative molding body having a decorative surface such as a metal vapor deposited layer. By the way, methods for attaching the decorative molding body to the surface of this elastic bumper include, for example, fitting the molding body into a recess provided on the surface of the elastic bumper, or bonding the molding body to the surface of the elastic bumper with an adhesive. A so-called in-mold integral molding method has been proposed, in which a molding body is installed in a mold for forming a bumper or an elastic bumper, and is attached integrally with the molding of the elastic bumper. Among these methods, the above-mentioned in-mold integral molding method is simpler in terms of process than other methods, and since the molding body is embedded in the bumper body, it creates a sense of unity, and is a method for mounting on this type of bumper. However, in the case of this in-mold integral molding, firstly, the molding body is affected by the flow direction of the molding material such as rubber or synthetic resin during molding. There was a risk of misalignment, and secondly, the molding material would wrap around and adhere to the decorative surface of the molding body, resulting in staining of the decorative surface, which was a fatal technical problem.

る。 This invention was proposed to solve the technical problem in integral molding as described above, and its gist is that a decorative part is attached to the front part of one mold surface of an elastic bumper mold. A fixing groove that fits or clamps at least the front part of a decorative mold body having a surface is provided, and a pressing part that presses the back surface of the decorative mold body is protruded from the other mold surface, and the fixing groove and the pressing part are provided. After fixing and holding the molding body with a mold, a molding material is injected into the mold to form a bumper in which the decorative molding body is embedded integrally, thereby accurately positioning the molding body, and at the same time Its feature is that it prevents the molding material from going around to the decorative surface side of the molding body and protects the decorative surface.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an elastic bumper 1 equipped with a decorative molding body. Although not shown in the drawings, the structure of the elastic bumper 1 is such that a semi-rigid synthetic resin foam, which serves as a shock absorbing element, is attached to a support frame on the vehicle side, and an elastic material is formed so as to cover the shock absorbing element or integrally with the shock absorbing element. with a bumper attached,
Also known are devices in which a portion of the buffer element serves as an air chamber, and the elasticity of air is utilized for the buffering effect. In the present invention, the elastic bumper or bumper body refers to an exterior portion made of rubber or synthetic resin that forms the outermost exterior of the bumper assembly as described above and substantially defines the bumper shape.

It is made of rubber or the like, and a decorative surface 3 made of metal foil, metal vapor deposition layer, etc. is formed on its upper surface side. The decorative molding body 2 used in this invention preferably has leg portions 2a as shown in the figure.
The shape does not matter as long as it fits into the fixing groove 15 described later.

問題である。 3 and 4 show an embodiment of the invention. That is, one of the molds for the elastic bumper, the lower mold 10 in the embodiment, is provided with a fixing groove 15 into which the decorative molding body 2 is fitted or clamped. This fixing groove 15 positions the decorative molding body 2 attached to the surface of the bumper body, and at the same time prevents molding material such as rubber or synthetic resin from wrapping around the decorative surface 3 on the surface of the molding body 2 during molding of the elastic bumper. Therefore, it is necessary to fit the side surface of the molding body 2 and to fit or clamp the front part including the decorative surface. Therefore, it is desirable that the width of the fixing groove 15 is the same as the width S of the decorative surface of the molding body 2 or slightly smaller than that. If the side surface of the molding body has elasticity due to the material of the base layer 4 of the molding body 2 or its cross-sectional shape, by utilizing that elasticity, it is possible to reduce the width of the fixing groove 15 and clamp it. Dew. However, in the present invention, as will be described later, the molding body 2 is
Since it is pressed and fixed, it is sufficient that the fixing groove 15 has a structure that prevents the resin 5 from getting around from the side end of the molding body 2. In addition, fixing groove 1
5 may be formed by providing protrusions 12, 12' in the mold (see FIG. 3),
Alternatively, it may be formed by drilling grooves in the mold itself (see FIG. 4). This is a problem that depends on whether the decorative molding is buried inward or protrudes outward from the bumper.

In addition, if the molding body 2 is structured to have a leg portion 2a as shown in the embodiment, the leg portion is pressed. This pressing portion 16 may be configured to press the entire lengthwise direction of the molding body 2 or may partially press the molding body 2, but it is not necessary to fit the molding body 2 into the fixing groove 15 and fix it. is necessary.

It is optional whether the decorative molding body 2 and the bumper body 1 are fixed to each other, or they are not fixed to each other. That is, in normal cases, the molding material 5 such as resin that forms the bumper body 1 and the molding body 2 have a structure in which the molding material 5 and the molding body 2 are integrally fixed to the bumper body at their contact surfaces due to the adhesive force of the molding material 5 when it hardens. Become. On the other hand, the entire part of the molding body 2 that comes into contact with the molding material 5 is coated with a drug that has a mold release effect, such as paraffin wax or silicone oil, or at least the part that comes into contact with the molding material 5 is made of the same material. By taking mold release means such as forming with an incompatible substance such as polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polyfluoroethylene resin, etc., adhesion between the two is prevented during molding, and the molding body 2 is kept in a slidable state. It is also possible to hold. In other words, after molding the bumper body 1,
The decorative molding body 2 is configured in a fitted state with the bumper body 1, and by configuring it in this way, the material forming the bumper body 1 and the material forming the molding body 2 are different. Differences in modulus due to differences in thermal expansion can be absorbed by the sliding motion of the molding body 2, and even when an impact is applied to the bumper body 1, concentration of stress on the molding body 2 can be prevented. This is an extremely effective means for preventing cracks and destruction of the body 2. Furthermore, it is easy to remove and replace.

容易に得ることができる。 As described above, in the manufacturing method according to the present invention, the molding body is fitted or clamped by the fixing groove provided on one side of the bumper mold, and the molding body is pressed by the pressing portion provided on the other side. Since the back surface is pressed and fixed, there is no concern that the molding body will be misaligned due to the flow of molding material such as rubber or synthetic resin during bumper molding. Since it is configured with the same width as S or slightly smaller, and is pressed and fixed from the back side of the molding body by the pressing part, the side surface of the molding body is firmly fixed in the fixing groove,
It is possible to prevent the resin from going around and adhering to the surface of the molding body during molding. As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to easily obtain an automobile bumper equipped with a decorative molding body having a beautiful outer surface through extremely simple steps.
