In conventional document stationary type facsimile transmission devices, a bendable rubber plate or a document cover having a part attached to the lower surface that easily fits a flexible document is used as a device for holding down the document. By the way, if the manuscript is a side-stitched book, the book is opened and the above-mentioned presser is placed on it, but depending on the book's thinness or the binding method, the above-mentioned presser may be placed only or in addition. Even if you can handle the process by pressing the book lightly with your hand, if the book is thick, if it is too thick and sturdy, or if the printing is close to the binding, you may need to apply considerable force to push the book onto the scanning surface. It must be held in place. If this is a normal copier, the process will be completed in a few seconds, so there is no particular problem, but if it is a facsimile transmitter, it may take several minutes to complete the scan, so it is best to press down firmly with your hand. This method has the disadvantage of causing misalignment of the original.

In FIG. 1, 1 is a facsimile transmitter main body, 2 is a document holding plate, and a pad 3, such as sponge rubber or moltoprene, which is easily attached to the document is adhered to the lower surface of the plate. Although not clearly shown in FIG. 1, as can be seen from FIG. 2 (or FIG. 3) and FIG. A shaft 5 is rotatably attached and a claw 6 is fixed. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 5, a stopper 7 is screwed to the pawl 6, and a tension spring 13 is applied to the spring hook 10 and the fixed spring hook 11 at the tip of the shaft 5.
It plays the role of reversibly placing the pawl 6 in a fixed position against the channel 4 (for engagement with a pawl 21, which will be described later). A tension wire 9 is slidably passed through a hole 8 in the stopper 7, and the tip thereof is bent into a hook shape, and a tension spring 14 is attached between the tension wire 9 and the spring hook 12. However, the hook-shaped portion is positioned relatively close to the claw 6.
Further, referring to FIG. 4, a handle 16 is rotatably attached to a fulcrum 17 at the tip of the document holding plate 2.
The aforementioned tension wire 9 is attached to a wire hook 18 fixed to the grip 16 with its tip bent.

In FIGS. 3 and 5, 20 is a holder that supports the document holding plate 2. As shown in FIG. As shown in the figure, it has a channel shape, and a claw 21 is formed at the tip so that it can engage with the claw 6. Reference numeral 24 is a sliding shaft that moves the document holding plate 2 up and down, is supported by a bearing 25 (FIG. 3 only) attached to the main body 1, and is connected to the shaft 22 through a hole in the lower surface of the holder 20. Also, a shaft 23 rotatably attached to the holder 20,
A compression spring 27 is held by a spring holder 26 between the shafts 15 rotatably attached to the channel 4, and as shown in FIG. Hold 2.

Further referring to FIGS. 3 and 6, the lock base 2
8 is fixed to the main body 1, its surface is formed into a wedge shape with respect to the sliding shaft 24, and a shaft 29 is inserted between the sliding shaft 24 and the lock base 28. The shaft 29 has grooves formed at both ends, and is held by a lever 30 having notches that engage with these grooves and a tension spring 37, and is lifted upward by horizontally moving the lower end of the lever 30, and the sliding shaft 24 and the lock base 28. A pin 35 is fixed to the tip of the lock lever 32, and is loosely engaged with the flange 36 of the shaft 29, raising the angle 38 attached to the holder 20 to lock the lever 32.
2 in the direction of the chain line, the axis 29
moves from the left to the upper right, and is crimped between the sliding shaft 24 and the lock base 28 as described above, and the sliding shaft 2
Lock 4 from moving upward. Conversely, when the document holding plate 2 is pushed downward, the lock lever 32 is pushed to the position shown by the solid line as shown in FIG. 6, and the shaft 29 is lowered to release the lock. This is axis 2
9, the lock stand 28, and the lever 32 together constitute a braking mechanism for controlling the movement of the sliding shaft 24.

In the above structure, as shown in FIG.
When a sheet-like original 40 is placed on the sheet 9 and the original holding plate 2 is placed over it, a force is exerted in the direction of pressing the original holding plate 2 onto the scanning surface 39 by the compression spring 27 having an appropriate inclination, and the claw 6 and 21 are automatically engaged by the combination of the former's inversion and the latter's inclined portion.
When picking up the document 40, the claws 6 and 21 are disengaged by lifting the handle 16 upward, so that the document holding plate 2 can be easily lifted upward. In this way, in the case of sheet-like originals, there is no difference from the original holding device of a conventional copying machine or the like.

However, when transmitting a horizontally bound book 41 as shown in Fig. 7, simply covering the original holding plate 2 will cause the printed surface 42 to rise due to the large repulsive force of the book, making accurate reading impossible. Become. At this time, as shown in FIG. 8, if the upper surface of the document holding plate 2 is pressed firmly and the holder 20 is pushed up at the position where the printing surface 42 contacts the scanning surface 39, the document holding plate 2 is made horizontal. Since the claws 6 and 21 engage with each other as shown, the original holding plate 2 and the sliding shaft 24 are fixed at right angles. If the lock lever 32 is moved to the position shown by the broken line in FIG. 6 while the holder 20 is in the upper position,
The sliding shaft 24 is locked by the shaft 29, and the book 41
Even if the repulsive force is strong, the book 41 is held in that state, and there is no problem even when scanning takes several minutes, such as with a facsimile transmitter. If you want to return it to its original position after scanning, lift the handle 16 as described above (Fig. 4), and the document holding plate 2 will be in the state shown in Figs. 32, so slide shaft 2
4 is released. Note that the felt 43 is a shock absorber when the document holding plate 2 returns to its original position.

As described above, the present invention has the advantage that not only sheet-like originals but also originals such as books, which have a strong repulsive force, can be reliably held on the scanning surface for a long time.
