c上に、段差形成した底板部材d,dを突合せ載
置した後溶接するようにしているが、両者とも裏
当金cは永久裏当金であるため溶接部のX線検査
ができず、又裏当金c部には溶接欠陥が生じ易い

前記突合せ部をその上面側から順次溶接して行く
と同時に、前記溝内に前記突合せ部の下面に接す
るよう配した裏当金移動装置を前記溶接個所に対

装置5と溶接装置7との間には両者が同期して移
動できるよう光電管方式の位置同調装置8が設け

溶接部のX線検査を行う。X線検査の結果溶接部
に欠陥部を有していた場合には、その部分を再び

用しての溶接後のX線検査が可能となり、従つて
信頼性の高い溶接構造となり、高品質のタンク底
板を得ることができる、等の優れた効果を発揮す
