ラー14がその厚み分だけ大きく移動することに
よつて反射光線の反射方向が異なり他方の受光素
子16cに受光されるように装設し、それぞれの
状態を検出できるように構成するが、通常の搬送
に際して受光素子16aと16bに交互に反射光
が入力されると繰り出し搬送枚数を計数できるよ
うに構成することもできる。このように本発明
は、紙葉類を挾持して搬送する一対のローラーの
一方を移動しないように軸支するとともに他方を
紙葉類の搬送方向と直交する方向に移動可能に軸
支し、移動可能のローラーの搬送周面に対して光
線を斜め方向より照射する発光部と、前記移動可
能のローラーの搬送周面で反射した前記発光部よ
りの光線を受光する少なくとも3つの受光素子よ
りなる受光部とより構成されるものであつて、前
記受光部の少なくとも3つの受光素子のうち、第
1の受光素子は、前記一対のローラーが紙葉類を
一枚も挾持していない状態のときに前記反射光を
検出する位置に、第2の受光素子は、前記一対の
ローラーが紙葉類を一枚だけ挾持した状態のとき
に前記反射光を検出する位置に、第3の受光素子
は、前記一対のローラーが紙葉類を二枚以上挾持
したときに前記反射光を検出する位置にそれぞれ
配置、構成したため、紙葉類を挾持して搬送する

のローラーが紙葉類を二枚以上挾持したときに前
記反射光を検出する位置にそれぞれ配置せしめら
