This invention is particularly suitable for use in stereo applications such as AM.
The main idea is to use one side of the stereo speakers as a passive cone to significantly enhance the bass when receiving TV or television.

FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional plan view of an embodiment of the present invention. 1 is a box for a radio or cassette radio, and 2 and 3 are stereo speakers. 7 is a cassette mechanism electronic circuitry whose L and R outputs are sent to the speaker through leads 4 and 5.

Reference numeral 6 designates a handle 10, which, when pushed, moves the sound insulating partition wall 8 to the position indicated by the dotted line, preventing acoustic coupling between both speakers and producing stereo reproduction. 10 is pulled out to the position shown in the figure, and when, for example, FM is switched to AM, FM is switched from stereo to monaural, or the stereo radio waves are weakened, switch 6 is opened via link 16, etc., and only speaker 3 is supplied with power. 65 will be described later, but it is not necessary. Therefore, the speaker 2 vibrates as a well-known passive cone (drone cone) due to the acoustic coupling within the box, thereby significantly enhancing the bass region. Of course, for the inside of the box, especially for bass, it is better to make appropriate parts and inner wall structure to ensure that the passive cone operates adequately. Furthermore, a matching resistor may be used for the L output together with the switch if necessary.

FIG. 2 is a modification of FIG. 1, and the switching wall 13 is rotated by a handle 14 attached to the front to switch between stereo and mono. Switches 11 and 12 disconnect the L or R speaker as the switch 13 moves left and right, and open the sound duct between the speakers 2 and 3, making one of them a passive cone. 40 and 41 are switch springs.

FIG. 3 shows an example in which the present invention is applied to a cassette regenerator. 30 is a cassette holder and starts at 40 as a pivot. 31 indicates a cassette with half removed. When the cassette is opened and 30 is in the position shown in the figure, the structure is such that an audio path is created between the R and L speakers through the space where the cassette is located, and at the same time, one of the speakers, for example L, is separated to operate as a passive cone. . If the 30 part is opened too much, sound pressure will leak, so the 70 part should be as small as possible. The R and L speakers in which the cassette is stored are separated to enable stereo playback. 30 may be opened together with a mono or AM selector switch. It is also possible to open the sound path even if the cassette is removed and the 30 is closed.

Fig. 4 shows a modification of the device shown in Fig. 3. In this case, when the lid 32 is opened and the cassette 31 is taken out, a sound path is created between the speakers 21 and 22, and one can be made into a passive cone. To block the passage, make the gap as small as possible or use sound-absorbing material on the wall. The same applies to cassettes with radios. In such a case, a cassette holder having only frames on both sides of the cassette is suitable.

FIG. 5 shows a television receiver 20 to which the present invention is applied. Braun tube 23, speakers 21 and 22
Normally, the handle 26 shown in the front view a rotates the wall 24 shown in the plan cross-sectional view b about an axis 25, and one of the switches 51 and 52 is opened so that one speaker becomes passive. This is due to the movement of 26 to either the left or right. Thus, if necessary, both speakers can be used together, or one can be made passive to enhance bass. Of course, a matching resistor or the like may be used at the same time as switching. It is also possible to tap-switch the output transformer. This kind of TV is TV
Obviously, it can also be used as a stereo speaker when not in use. At this time, it is easy to display the sound waveform on a cathode ray tube in a Lissage figure or on a time axis, but this will be described in detail with reference to FIG. Stereo balance and other information may be displayed using a cathode ray tube.

FIG. 6 shows a case where the opening/closing plate 51 of the audio path of the speakers 21, 22 as described above is operated by the force of the solenoid 50 or the like. 54 is a spring. The operation of this solenoid is of course linked to the switching between AM and FM cassettes. It may also be operated at FM multi-carrier 19KHz.

FIG. 7 shows the present invention applied to a cassette device 54 with radio TV. A is a plane view, and b is an elevational sectional view. 32 is the cassette lid, as shown in Figure 3 30.
It may also be in a cassette holder format. 60 is a sound insulating plate used as necessary for two speakers 21, 2.
Insulate the space between the two. At the same time as the cassette 31 is removed, the system switches to FM mode and one speaker's lead is cut off to operate as a passive cone. Of course FM
A changeover switch may be provided separately. Alternatively, the stereo/mono switching plate may be moved by moving the partition wall as in the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1-6.

Note that while the radio or cassette is in use, audio waveforms, Lissage diagrams, and other figures may be displayed on the TV cathode ray tube. This is suitable for Akira channel
This can be implemented using an IC, but it is also possible to simply apply audio signals to the X and Y deflection sections of the cathode ray tube and the brightness electrodes. You can also check the balance by transmitting the stereo signal to a cathode ray tube. Further, the cathode ray tube may be provided with an identification display for FM, AM, or cassette use, or may be provided with a clock display. This can also be implemented by incorporating a well-known IC.

Furthermore, as described above, the speaker may be partially separated and a matching resistor may be inserted into the separated part, or the level may be adjusted. The separated speaker may not necessarily be completely separated, but may be designed to provide appropriate attenuation. Furthermore, even in the case of stereo reproduction, if a sound duct that allows only low frequencies to pass is applied to the acoustic coupling section of the above embodiment, only high frequencies will be reproduced in stereo, but the reduction may not cause any problem since the directivity is originally small.
In this case, when feeding power to the parasitic speaker, it is convenient to pass it through a high-pass filter. Reference numeral 65 shown by dotted lines in FIG. 1 indicates these filters. In this case, the upper part 66 of box 1 becomes a low-pass sound path. Of course, for such uses, the sound insulating wall 8 is left open. This can be applied to both stereo and mono. The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned specific examples, and various modifications and combinations of embodiment parts are possible.
