The present invention relates to a method for insecticidal treatment of crude drugs and spices. Herbal medicines and spices are natural products, and it generally takes about 1 to 5 years to grow the raw materials depending on the type, so they must be stored for a relatively long period of time in order to secure the raw materials. However, during this storage, there is a risk that the quality may deteriorate due to damage from insects. For this purpose, fumigation treatment has traditionally been carried out in storage warehouses using piperonyl butoxide, etc., but this insecticidal treatment has problems in terms of the residual toxicity of the fumigant and the danger of the treatment operation. It was hot. In order to solve these problems, the use of carbon dioxide gas has been researched and reported, but when carbon dioxide gas is used at normal pressure, the insecticidal effect is not complete and larvae and eggs survive. Therefore, there is a high possibility that the eggs and larvae will reach adulthood while the herbal medicines and spices are being stored, and that the herbal medicines and spices will be damaged by insects over successive generations. For this purpose, it has been proposed to use carbon dioxide gas under high pressure, and although this method is advantageous in terms of effectiveness, it lacks practicality in terms of equipment and equipment. Therefore, the object of the present invention is to be harmless to the human body,
It has complete insecticidal effect and does not require pressure equipment.
Moreover, the object is to provide an insecticidal treatment method that does not impair the quality of crude drugs and spices. In general, pests that tend to cause feeding damage to the raw materials of herbal medicines and spices become more metabolically active at higher temperatures (above 35 degrees Celsius), and their oxygen demand increases. The present invention provides a method for killing insects by utilizing this physiology of pests, and provides a treatment method that is easy, inexpensive, and provides excellent insecticidal effects. According to the present invention, this object is achieved by a method for insecticidal treatment of crude drugs and spices, which is characterized by heating under reduced pressure and then maintaining under a carbon dioxide atmosphere. The degree of reduced pressure is 30 to 120 mmHg, and the processing temperature is 35 to 55 degrees Celsius in order to maintain the quality of herbal medicines and spices.
Appropriately, the time for the reduced pressure treatment is 30 to 120 minutes, and the time for the carbon dioxide treatment is approximately 60 to 240 minutes. There is a correlation between the depressurization time and the carbon dioxide gas filling time; if the former is long, the latter is sufficient if it is short, and vice versa. It should be noted that the herbal medicines and spices insecticidal-treated by the method of the present invention will not be susceptible to insect damage even if they are stored in a warehouse or the like under normal storage conditions for more than one year. Next, the present invention will be explained in detail using insecticidal test examples. In each example, the results are shown as hatching rate or survival rate (%), and as a control, the hatching rate and survival rate of insect pests left under normal pressure and room temperature. The survival rate was examined and was over 90% in all cases. Test Example 1 Insecticidal treatment was carried out on 100 eggs of the common moth, and the results are shown in the table below.
The degree of reduced pressure was 40 mmHg and the treatment temperature was 40°C.
