Conventional polyolefin flat yarns and monofilaments have been produced by a so-called group process in which multiple tapes made by slitting a material film to a desired width are simultaneously introduced into a heating element such as a bath or oven, where they are stretched and split. . Split yarn also had its processing equipment incorporated into the process from drawing to winding, and was no different from the manufacturing method for flat yarn and monofilament.

However, with such group processing, troubles such as yarn breakage and tangles frequently occur during the drawing and splitting process, making it difficult to mass produce split yarns through high-speed processing, and there are also difficulties in terms of equipment for high-speed processing. The disadvantage is that this occurs.

Each tape that has passed through the nip roll 5 in each weight 4 (hereinafter, only one weight of tape will be described) is transferred to the stretching heating section 6, that is, as shown in FIG. Curved surface 14 2 , heating curved surface 13b, free roll 15 1 , heating curved surface 13
a, the free roll 15 2 , the heating curved surface 13 b, and the free rolls 15 3 . . . 15 6 are wound in this order. Thus, the front half of the heating body 12, that is, the concave curved surface 14 1
The portion of the tape wrapped around the heated curved surfaces 13a and 13b connecting the concave curved surfaces 14 1 and 14 2
The stretching point of the tape is delayed due to slipping at 4 2 , so that sufficient preheating is applied and the heating element 1
The second half of 2, that is, free rolls 15 2 , 15 4 ,
The portion of the tape wound around the heated curved surfaces 13a and 13b connecting the tapes 156 becomes a neckline by stretching and slides on the heated curved surfaces 13a and 13b at high speed via the free rolls 151 to 156 .

The thus preheated tape is wound around the rolls 7a, 7b three to four times in a suspended state so as not to overlap, and then wrapped around the rolls 7a, 7b,
It is wound 3 to 4 times in the same state around the roll 7c, stretched 5 to 12 times as much as the nip roll 5, transported at high speed, and split by the split roll 8 located between the rolls 7a and 7c. It becomes yarn.

According to the apparatus of the present invention, since the heating element 12 is wound around the material tape during stretching as described above, the amount of heat required depending on the fineness can be adjusted by the number of windings. This makes it possible to process materials of any fineness at high speed with compact equipment.

Nelson-type rolls for stretching include a first roll 7a, a second roll 7b, and a third roll arranged in parallel.
The split roll 8 is a three-roll system consisting of a first roll 7a and a third roll 7c.
Since it is placed between the two parts, it is possible to perform splitting at the same time as stretching, and it is also possible to always provide stable tension to the split part and prevent uneven tension, which is the biggest cause of troubles caused by splitting. .
