For example, austenitic stainless steel lining is used to store liquids containing substances harmful to the human body stored for chemical processing or temporary storage, or liquids containing dangerous substances that may cause an explosion. However, if a leak occurs when liquid containing substances harmful to the human body is stored in the tank, the liquid in the tank should be removed and the leak location detected and repaired. may be in situations where it is impossible, or even if it is not impossible, it may be difficult to handle. Therefore, in such cases, there is a need for a method that enables detection and repair of leakage points in the storage tank without removing the liquid in the tank, and the present invention has been proposed in view of these circumstances. The liquid adjacent to the inner surface of the tank is isolated from other liquids by an isolation box that cooperates with the inner surface, and by detecting a drop in the water level due to leakage, it is possible to easily and accurately detect the drop in water level without removing the stored liquid. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a device for detecting the location and extent of leakage.

Place the pump 39 as shown, gradually lower the isolation box 20 suspended by the rope 18,
The position of the isolation box 20 is determined by the scale attached to the rope 18, and when it reaches a predetermined position (depth), the descent is stopped, and the suction cups 36, 37 of the holding device 30 are moved close to the lining 14 and oriented. At the same time, when the pump 39 is operated to discharge the water in the suction cups 36 and 37,
The reverse plates 36 and 37 stick to the lining 14 and fix the isolation box 20 with the opening 22 facing the lining 14.

To detect leakage on the entire surface of the lining 14,
The isolation box 20 is moved vertically in steps so that the upper and lower ends of the surfaces to be inspected slightly overlap.
The detection procedure described above is performed each time the fixation is performed, and the detection work is then performed by moving the adjacent horizontal position in the vertical direction as described above.
