As shown in Fig. 1, the conventional brake shoe 1 has a rectangular prism-shaped block that is curved so that it can slide on the wheel tread, and a narrow groove 2 of about 5 mm in width in the center of the brake shoe to prevent cracking. It was engraved. Such conventional brake shoes, especially in railway vehicles running in snowy regions, trap abraded iron powder etc. along with snow etc. into the narrow grooves 2, and these enter the sliding surface and reduce the braking effect. It was dangerous. In addition, since the narrow grooves 2 of conventional brake shoes were carved perpendicular to the sliding direction of the wheel, chattering (vibration) occurred at the edges of the narrow grooves 2 during braking, which caused the wheel tread to be scraped off, causing vibrations. A so-called galling phenomenon occurs in which shavings stick to the brake shoe, or local contact occurs between the wheel and the brake shoe, creating hot spots on the wheel and causing cracks in the wheel. Therefore, the brake shoe 3 of the present invention eliminates the drawbacks of the conventional brake shoe described above, and the narrow groove of the brake shoe is formed to widen from the wheel flange side toward the outside in the width direction, and is deposited in the narrow groove. In addition to facilitating the removal of foreign matter, the sliding contact angle of the narrow groove with the wheel tread is oblique to prevent chatter, and both longitudinal ends of the sliding contact surface of the brake shoe are formed in a wide-spread shape to prevent uneven wear. This prevents this from occurring and improves the durability of the brake shoes. Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 to 4 of the drawings. 4 is formed in a groove portion 3b that widens from the flange 4a side to the opposite flange side, and further,
The notch 3c of the slope is formed so that both longitudinal ends of the sliding surface 3a widen toward the flange 4a.
It is also what formed the. Further, as described above, the groove portion 3b is formed to widen toward the width direction of the sliding surface (the third
(see figure), and also in the thickness direction of the brake shoe, it is formed to widen toward the sliding surface (second
(see figure). And on the back side of the brake shoe 3, there is a base metal 5.
A receiver 6, 6 attached to the base metal 5, and a mounting plate 7 to the vehicle body are provided. In addition, the sliding surface 3 of the brake shoe
It is preferable that each edge on the a side is chamfered, and that the groove 3b has a shape in which the depth of the groove 3b is gradually increased in the width direction from the flange 4a side of the wheel.

(1) In the brake shoe of the present invention, the groove 3b widens from the flange 4a side of the wheel 4 in the width direction, so snow, ice, worn iron powder, etc. that get into the groove 3b interfere with the flange 4a of the wheel. It is smoothly guided and discharged to the outside of the vehicle without being damaged. Therefore wheel 4
This prevents snow, iron powder, etc. from entering the brake shoes 3 and their respective sliding surfaces, and reduces the effectiveness of vehicle braking during snowfall compared to conventional brake shoes even in snowy areas. There's nothing to do. Furthermore, since the groove part 3b of the brake shoe is widened toward the end on the sliding surface, the edge of the groove part 3b slides obliquely with respect to the moving direction of the wheel. Unlike other wheels (which were carved perpendicular to the direction), there is no chatter (vibration) when the brakes are applied, and therefore there is no scraping of the wheel, and the scrapings enter the sliding surface of the brake pad and pierce it, causing the so-called galling phenomenon. The braking effect of the brake shoe can be stably maintained for a long period of time by keeping the sliding surface in good condition.

(2) Since the sliding surface of the brake shoe is formed to widen from the outside of the wheel to the flange side by the widening groove portion 3b and the widening slope notches 3c at both ends (see Fig. 3), the braking of the wheel is facilitated. As a result, the frictional heat on the outer circumferential surface of the wheel gradually decreases as the sliding contact area decreases outward from the flange side. This has the effect of reducing the heat generation in the parts where cracks (see figure) are likely to occur (other parts are always in contact with the rail and hardened due to work hardening), thereby suppressing the occurrence of cracks due to the heat generation. Furthermore, the sloped notches 3c at both ends of the brake shoe also have grooves 3b in the center.
Similarly, the structure is such that snow, water, ice, etc. adhering to the wheel treads are guided and discharged to the outside of the vehicle body, which is the side opposite to the wheel flange, thereby preventing snow, etc. from entering the brake pad sliding surface. This has the effect of preventing the braking distance from being extended compared to conventional brake shoes. In addition, the brake shoe of the present invention has a structure in which a groove portion 3b that widens toward the end is formed in the center of the conventional brake shoe, and sloped notches 3c that widen toward the end are provided at both ends, so that sliding contact is improved compared to the conventional brake shoe. The area becomes smaller. Therefore, the amount of thermal deformation of the sliding surface is small, and the contact efficiency with the wheel tread is not reduced, so the brake shoe slides on the wheel tread more uniformly than conventional brake shoes, so the frictional force with the wheel is reduced. It is stable and can perform safe and reliable braking as shown in FIG.

(3) Generally, brake shoes are attached to the mounting part of the vehicle body frame with some play, so when the brake is applied, the length of the sliding surface of conventional brake shoes is large, so the wheel There is a particularly strong tendency for the sliding entrance portion to bite into the wheel due to rotation, causing the sliding opening to rise above the wheel tread. As a result, the brake shoes are subject to uneven wear, which shortens the useful life of the brake shoes.

However, in the brake shoe of the present invention, since the sliding surface is formed to widen toward the wheel flange side, the average length in the longitudinal direction of the sliding surface (since both ends are sloped notches, the average length is did)
is shorter than the length of the conventional brake shoe in the longitudinal direction.
As the lifting is reduced, uneven wear like the one described above is less likely to occur, and as a result of the overall wear being averaged, uneven wear of the sliding entrance part from when the brake is applied until the vehicle stops, as shown in Figure 7, is reduced. The amount is significantly lower than that of conventional brake shoes, which has the effect of providing a brake shoe with a long life.
