ユープレス脱水機は、外筒とスクリユーとによつ
て囲まれる部分の容積がケーキ排出口に近付くに
従つて次第に減少するようにするとともに、ケー
キ排出口の外側に抵抗体を設けて脱水汚泥の排出
をケーキ排出口側で抑制することによつてケーキ
排出口近傍の圧力を増大させたものを普通とする
が、このようなスクリユープレス脱水機により汚
泥をそのままもしくは高分子凝集剤その他の凝集
剤を添加し凝集させた凝集汚泥として汚泥供給口
から供給すると、汚泥はスクリユー羽根の前側す
なわち搬送方向側から順次堆積していくから、脱
水時間の経過に伴つてスクリユー羽根の直前面側
にある汚泥が裏面側にある汚泥よりも強く圧搾さ
れて該スクリユー羽根の直前面には低水分ケーキ
が形成されるのに対し、スクリユー羽根の裏面に
は高水分ケーキが形成されてそのままの状態でケ
ーキ排出口から排出され、得られるケーキ水分に
ばらつきが生じてケーキ水分の高いものとなる。

スクリユー羽根を前記スクリユー羽根とは逆方向
に巻いた第2スクリユーとよりなるものとしたこ

の第2スクリユー9とで構成されていて第1スク
リユー7のスクリユー軸8と第2スクリユー9の
スクリユー軸10はそれぞれ環状の軸受け部11
と軸12とで回転自在に接続されている。第1ス
クリユー7のスクリユー軸8および第2スクリユ
ー9のスクリユー軸10はそれぞれスプロケツト
13,14により別々に独立して駆動され、図中
矢印N1,N2で示す如く回転方向が逆向きであ
る。また、第1スクリユー軸8に巻かれたスクリ
ユー羽根15と第2スクリユー軸10に巻かれた
スクリユー羽根16は巻き方向が逆向きであり、
両スクリユー軸8,10の接続部には羽根のない
部分が1/4〜1ピツチ分好ましくは1/4〜1/2ピツ

きた汚泥はこの羽根のない部分で堆積して両スク
リユーの回転速度差により圧密され、効率よく脱
水されてひねり効果の出やすい状態まで硬化し、
この堆積した汚泥は押し込み作用を受けて次の第
2スクリユー9のスクリユー羽根16,16間に
適確に充満されることとなる。しかも、第1スク
リユー7と第2スクリユー9とはスクリユー羽根
15,16の巻き方向を逆方向とするとともに回
転方向を逆方向にしているので、第1スクリユー
7によるケーキ移送方向はV1であるのに対し第
2スクリユー9では反転されてV2の方向となつ
て前記スクリユー羽根16,16間に強く汚泥は
押し込まれ、羽根のない両スクリユー軸8,10
の接続部で前記したように移送速度の差により圧
密された汚泥はスクリユー羽根16の前面にある
ものも後面にあるものも同様に適確に圧密作用を
受け脱水されるとともに第2スクリユー9に移つ
た際に生じる方向転換によりひねり作用と強い剪
断力を受けてさらに脱水されることとなもので、
ケーキ排出口5からは各部の水分ばらつきがな
く、しかも、極めて低水分のケーキが安定して得
られることとなる。

分を低下できるもので、在来のこの種スクリユー
プレス脱水機の問題点を解決したものとして業界
の発展に寄与するところ極めて大なものである。
