There are known means of inserting spacers. However, since the spacer has a direction for insertion and is provided with a protrusion for engaging with the connector housing, care must be taken when inserting the spacer during assembly. Additionally, there are drawbacks such as the protrusions being easily broken during transportation and storage as parts.

This connector consists of a housing body 1 in which housing chambers 3a3b for electrical connectors 4a4b are arranged side by side, and a spacer 2 that is inserted and removed from the rear of the housing body 1 as shown by the arrow x (←→). ,
The housing main body 1 has a pair of symmetrical elastic locking pieces 8 on the side wall 1c near the rear end 1a, and the elastic locking pieces 8 are cantilever beams extending in the direction of the front end 1b with the base near the rear end 1a. It has a shape, and the side wall 1c
By means of two parallel slits 7 cut in the side wall 1
It is elastically deformable outward apart from the fixed part c, and a locking protrusion 10 is formed inward at its tip. That is, the pair of elastic locking pieces 8 have their bases fixed to the respective side walls 1C, have locking protrusions 10 on their free ends, and face each other, and the elastic locking pieces 8 themselves are attached to the housing body 1 together with the fixed part. forming the sides. The locking protrusion 10 is formed in a triangular shape by a slope 11 that gradually increases toward the front end 1b and an end face 12 that is perpendicular to the side wall 1c. 4 and the rear end 1a of the housing body 1. In addition,
Reference numeral 9 is a hole provided for the elastic locking piece 8 to be removed from the mold, and reference numeral 6 is an electric wire. On the other hand, the spacer 2 is a rectangular plate-like member having a thickness H that fits loosely into the gap 13 on the partition wall 1E between the storage chambers 3a3b, and a width B that fits loosely into the space in the upper part of both the storage chambers 3a3b. A pair of rectangular locking notches 14 of the same shape are cut on the left and right opposite sides, and the center line of the locking notches 14 coincides with the center line 2a of the length L of the spacer 2.
The sensor 2 is completely symmetrical with respect to the center lines of the top, bottom, left and right as well as front and back.

おくと、挿脱操作が簡易になつて好ましい。 The housing body 1 and spacer 2 described above are used as follows. The electrical connector 4a4b is inserted into the housing body 1, and the front end of the contact portion 5 is brought into contact with the stop projection 15 inside the housing body 1. Subsequently, the spacer 2 is inserted from the rear and the contact portion 5
At the same time as it comes into contact with the rear end 5a, the locking protrusion 10 of the elastic locking piece 8 and the locking notch 14 of the spacer 2 are engaged, and the spacer 2 is fixed, and the electrical connector 4a4b
is accurately fixed in the correct position without falling out. That is, when the spacer 2 is inserted, the elastic locking piece 8 is deformed outward as shown by the arrow y (→) due to the sliding movement of the spacer 2 and the slope 11, and the spacer is inserted. When the spacer 2 is inserted into the predetermined position, the end surface 12 of the locking protrusion 10 and the locking notch 14 engage with each other to completely prevent the spacer 2 from retreating. In addition, if the length L of the spacer 2 satisfies the above-mentioned requirements for the symmetrical shape and is dimensioned so that the rear end slightly protrudes from the rear end 1a of the housing main body 1 in the final insertion position, insertion will be facilitated. This is preferable because the removal operation becomes simple.

一の効果がある。 Next, FIGS. 4 and 5 show another embodiment of the present invention, in which elastic locking pieces 8 having the same structure as described above are formed on the left and right side walls, and a housing main body 1 having accommodation chambers 3a to 3f is formed. , and a spacer 2 used therein, the spacer 2 has a center line 2a in the length L direction.
It has a symmetrical shape with respect to the axis, and locking notches 14 are cut in the left and right edge portions, and semicircular grooves 16 are bored in the upper and lower surfaces. The groove 16 is shaped to cover approximately the upper half of the electric wire 6 connected to the electrical connector, and when the spacer 2 is inserted into the space above the storage chamber partition wall 1E, the front end of the spacer 2 is electrical connector 4
The recessed groove 16 fits over each electric wire,
The structure is such that the position of the spacer 2 is fixed by the engagement between the locking notch 14 and the elastic locking piece 8, and has the same effect as the previous embodiment.

点がある。 As described above, the connector of the present invention uses a spacer that is symmetrical with respect to the center line in both the upper and lower left and right sides as well as the front and back, and the elastic locking piece that locks the spacer is built into the housing body. Because of the structure, there is no direction restriction for spacer insertion, and it can be inserted from any direction, up, down, front, back, etc., which improves workability, eliminates the risk of breakage of elastic locking pieces, etc., and prevents parts from breaking. It has the advantage of being easier to transport, store, etc.
