The present invention relates to improvements in steering knuckles for driving wheels of vehicles, particularly front wheels in front-wheel drive vehicles. Conventionally, the structure of the front wheel of a FF vehicle includes a bearing that rotatably supports the wheel shaft that drives the wheel.
The skeleton part is a nut that is integrated with this bearing part and becomes a connecting member of the shock absorber between the vehicle body and a connecting member of the steering arm.
There is a disk (or drum) on the wheel axle that serves as the wheel attachment member and also constitutes a part of the brake device.
The structure consists of a hub that serves as a support. The nuticle, which forms the framework, has a complex structure as mentioned above, and because it needs to have sufficient strength, it has traditionally been made of cast or forged products. It was common to have them firmly fastened to the Incidentally, a recent improvement issue in vehicles that has been attracting attention is the problem of reducing vehicle weight from the perspective of improving energy efficiency, etc. From this perspective, the present invention aims to simplify the device structure and improve assembly. The aim was to make the work easier and to reduce the weight.By using a sheet metal material that is advantageous in terms of weight reduction, the weight of the Natsukuru itself was reduced, and the support for the brake device was made using this Natsukuru sheet metal material. By using this, it is possible to create an integrated structure and reduce the number of conventional support fastening members. That is, the present invention provides a frame structure that supports a vehicle drive wheel, which includes a main body that is integrated with a cylindrical body that forms a bearing that rotatably supports a wheel shaft passing through it, and a body that bends and extends in the radial direction from the main body. An inner shell made of a single sheet metal material having a connecting arm for the extended shock absorber, a supporting part for supporting the brake device, and a connecting arm for the lower arm, and a main body that is integrated with the cylindrical body forming the bearing. , and an outer shell made of a single sheet metal material in which bent extensions corresponding to the bent extensions of the inner shell are formed, and the corresponding peripheral edges of both the inner and outer shells are butted or overlapped. This is a sheet metal knuckle for a vehicle drive wheel, characterized in that it is formed into a hollow shell structure by being joined and fixed together. The present invention will be described below based on embodiments shown in the drawings. Embodiment 1 In FIG. 1, 1 is a hollow shell structure nutacle formed by a combination of two sheet metal materials, an inner shell, 2 and an outer shell 3, and a cylindrical body 4 forming a bearing. The inner
Both outer shells 2 and 3 have external shapes that substantially match each other at the outer periphery, so that they are overlapped (or may be butted) and integrated at the outer periphery, and are formed on the main body parts 2a and 3a. The knuckle 1 is welded and fixed to both ends of the cylindrical body 4 in the opposing through holes 2b and 3b having the same diameter. With this structure, the knuckle 1 is formed into a substantially hollow shell structure. 2c, 3c are nutkuru main body parts 2a, 3a
The connecting arm of the shock absorber is bent and extended in the radial direction from the front end of the shock absorber, and the semi-cylindrical part formed at the tip thereof is bolted together with the half-cylindrical part of the knuckle arm 5, so that there is no interposition between it and the vehicle body. The lower end of the strut 6 of the provided shock absorber is fastened and supported.
7 is the bolt, and 5a is a connecting hole for the steering arm. 2d and 3d are the nutkuru body parts 2 as well.
This is a support part extending in a bifurcated shape in the radial direction from a and 3a, and constitutes a support body of a brake device that acts on the edge of the disc 8. The tips of the bifurcated support parts 2d and 3d The brake device is supported via a sliding coupling device (not shown) assembled into the through holes 2e and 3e. 2f and 3f are connecting arms 2 of the shock absorber.
c, 3c is a connecting arm of the lower arm bent and extended on the opposite side, and the taper hole 2
A lower arm (not shown) is connected via a ball joint (not shown) fixed to g and 3g. Reference numeral 9 denotes a wheel shaft which is rotatably driven, and is rotatably supported through a ball bearing 10 through the central cylindrical body 4 of the knuckle bodies 2a, 3a. According to the above configuration, the main body parts 2a and 3a including the cylindrical body 4 that rotatably supports the wheel shaft 9, the connecting arms 2c and 3c of the shock absorbing device bent and extended from this main body part, and the support Since the parts 2d and 3d and the connecting arms 2f and 3f of the lower arm are formed into a substantially hollow shell structure by two sheets of inner and outer sheet metal, the weight of the nutcle 1 is significantly reduced, and Since the support part of the brake device can be integrated, the number of parts and assembly man-hours can be reduced, resulting in extremely large benefits. Embodiment 2 In this embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, a cylindrical body portion 4' forming a bearing that rotatably supports a wheel shaft 9 via a ball bearing 10 is an inner shell forming a knuckle 1. The second embodiment has the same structure as the first embodiment except that it is formed by extending from the main body 2a of the second embodiment. According to such a structure, since the structure of the nutcle 1 having a hollow shell structure is formed by the inner shell 2 and the outer shell 3, it is more advantageous in terms of reducing the number of processing and assembly steps. It has the effect of becoming a thing. As described above, the sheet metal nut of the vehicle drive wheel according to the present invention has an extremely lightweight hollow shell structure formed using two bent sheet metal materials, and supports the brake device. Since the support part is integrated, its practical benefits are extremely large.
