Wood has winter and summer grains, which form annual rings and give rise to the beauty of the wood grain. Some types of wood have little change in color between winter and summer, and the grain of the wood is not beautiful. There are many things that I have received.

Generally, when wood is heated with saturated steam in a pressure vessel, the color of the entire wood becomes reddish as the pressure increases, so as long as steam is used, even if the color of the entire wood can be changed, it will not look summery. It was said that it was impossible to change the color of winter. Similarly, it is impossible to color only in winter using chemical coloring methods.

Explanation of the present invention, based on an example of using northern sea wood such as Scots pine, which is considered to be a low-grade wood, to darken the color of only the winter parts of the wood, which has never been done before, to eliminate the image of a low-grade wood. I do.

Northern European timber such as Scots pine does not have much change in color between summer and winter, and has no aesthetic value. However, such Northern timber is placed in a pressure vessel and heated to 110°C using saturated steam. After the above-mentioned uniformity is achieved, if the saturated steam is released from the pressure vessel and the pressure inside the vessel is reduced, the contained water will boil uniformly and a phenomenon of steam distillation will occur within the wood, causing an obstruction to the movement of the contained water. The aged resin chemically decomposes and is released from within the wood and removed. Most of the resin removed by this method is present in the summer part,
The winter part is small. After this, the wood is heated again with saturated steam to raise the internal temperature of the wood to 110℃ or higher, and super steam having a temperature higher than the saturated steam temperature is injected into the pressure vessel, and the super steam is poured into the container from the opposite side of the injection direction. If the wood is released outside, the temperature inside the pressure vessel becomes higher than the boiling point depending on the internal pressure, causing the water contained in the wood to boil. The amount of boiling at this time can be increased depending on the temperature of the super steam. The pressure inside the pressure vessel is higher than when heated with saturated steam, boiling occurs even if the pressure is not increased, and most of the resin in Natsume has been removed by the previous saturated steam heating and pressure reduction, so the super steam Boiling during heating affects the resin remaining in the winter part, causing the winter part to become darker in color, but the pressure does not increase in the summer part, where there is less residual resin. Therefore, there is not much change in color.

If you heat this super steam for 3 to 6 hours,
Northern timber such as Scots pine is dried and taken out of the pressure vessel. The surface of this dried wood is contaminated by the scum within the wood, but if this wood is shaved, this contamination will disappear, and the color of the entire wood will change compared to that of wood dried using normal drying methods that do not use this method. There hasn't been much change, only the winter grain has darkened, resulting in a wood with a clearer grain.

This method requires boiling contained water, so treating dry wood with this method is not very effective, and requires residual water that can be evaporated even when heated with super steam.

As explained above in the examples, the present invention is a method for brightening the winter appearance of wood, which is characterized by adding heat using super steam to wood that has been treated using saturated steam heating and reduced pressure to release the water contained therein. Because of this, the resin in the wood can be treated separately for the summer and winter parts, eliminating the harmful effects of dyeing caused by heating the resin, making the color darker only in the winter parts, and making the wood grain clearer. , the image of low-grade wood disappeared, and it became a major benefit for the industry.
