2. Description of the Related Art Cameras that detect the distance between a subject and a camera, generate an electrical signal to activate an electromagnet, and automatically focus a photographic lens have been recently proposed and are extremely convenient. On the other hand, various inconveniences occur when photographing oneself using a self-timer. In other words, with a camera that focuses at the start of the selfie, the subject may stand directly in front of the camera or stand behind the camera, causing the shooting distance to be set inappropriately, and the selfie may be taken incorrectly. Even with a camera that is in focus when the shutter is activated after activation, the subject is not necessarily within the camera's in-focus angle of view, and is likely to be set at an inappropriate distance.

In view of the above, the present invention proposes that when using a self-timer, the automatic focus adjustment function of the camera is disabled and at the same time the photographic lens is set at a predetermined distance.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the drawings, a ring 1 that rotates around the optical axis of the photographic lens and adjusts the focal point position of the lens is moved by a spring 2. It is provided with a cam portion 1a which is given a left turning force and is made up of P, Q, R, S, and T corresponding to each shooting distance, and a charge protrusion 1b.

The self-timer 15 operates in a known manner, so it will not be described in detail, but the set lever 16
It is normally in the state shown in the figure and is rotatable in the direction of the arrow around the shaft 16a. Also, the shaft 16a
is connected to the shaft 12 by known means 17.

Next, to explain how it works, in the charge state shown in the figure, the AF is activated in conjunction with the camera's focus detection operation.
The member 4 is turned to the left about the shaft 5, and at the same time, the coil 10 starts to be energized, and the iron piece lever 6 is attracted to the electromagnet 9. Thereafter, although not shown, the pressure contact of the iron piece lever 6 to the electromagnet 9 is released.

When the in-focus position is detected while the AF member 4 is rotating, the power to the coil 10 is cut off from an electronic circuit (not shown), and the iron piece lever 6 is separated from the electromagnet 9 under the action of the spring 8, and the claw portion 6a is moved away from the electromagnet 9. locks the locking teeth 4b. Therefore, the AF member 4 is stopped at a position where the curved portion 4a corresponds to the cam portion 1a.

Subsequently, the setting member 3 operates to the left, and the ring 1 has the protrusion 1b following the setting plate 3, and the spring 2
The camera rotates to the left, one step of the cam portion 1a is restricted by the curved portion 4a, and the photographic lens is restricted to the focal point position corresponding to the position of the ring 1.

The above operation is a normal operation for adjusting the focus point, but when using a self-timer, when the set lever 16 of the self-timer is set in the direction of the arrow, the release means 11 is activated by a known means 17.
is rotated to the right against the force of the spring 13, the arm 11b pushes the protrusion 4c, the AF member 4 is rotated to the left around the shaft 5, and the curved portion 4a is retracted from the operating range of the cam portion 1a. At the same time, the curved portion 11a enters the operating range of the cam portion 1a and is set to the locus of the stepped portion S corresponding to the normal focal position of the photographic lens.

When the camera starts shooting in this state, the focus detection operation starts around the time the self-timer 15 starts, but since the operation of the AF member 4 is restrained by the arm 11b, the in-focus position remains unchanged. Even if it is detected and the electromagnet 9 operates the iron lever 6, the action of the bent portion 4a will not occur.

Subsequently, when the setting member 3 moves to the left, the ring 1 turns to the left by the spring 2, and the stepped portion S moves to the curved portion 1.
1a, and the photographing lens is regulated to the normal focal position. Below, after the shutter is operated by the self-timer, the set lever 1
6 is restored, and the release means 11 is also restored. That is, in the case of normal focusing point adjustment, the first means including a detection electronic circuit, electromagnet, AF member, etc. is operated to set the focused point position, and when using the self-timer, the first means is activated to set the focused point position. Inactivating the first means and activating the bending portion 11a as a second means,
This is to set the photographing lens at the regular focal position.

In the above embodiment, the release means 11 is shown as a mechanical means interlocked with the set lever 16, but it is constructed as an electrical release means, and the electrical release means is operated in interlock with the set lever 16, and the AF is activated. When the member 4 reaches the position corresponding to the normal focus position, the electromagnet 9 is activated to move the AF member 4
It can also be configured to stop. In this case, the curved portion 4a controlled by the first means for automatically setting the focal position acts as the second means, and the curved portion 11a engages with the stepped portion S in the above description. It may be designed as appropriate so that it engages with the cam portion 1a at the same position.

Further, the release means 11 (including electrical means),
Manually setting the distance to an arbitrary value can also be easily achieved by simply providing locking mechanisms at a plurality of positions.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the self-timer is used, the normal focus position or
Since the shooting is performed at a manually set position, the automatic focus detection function is disabled no matter what condition the subject is in, which reduces the chance of shooting with the wrong focus position and makes it easier to use this type of camera. The area can be expanded.
