In the figure, 1 is a passenger conveyor, 2 is a handrail erected on both sides of the steps 3, and 21 is a moving handrail that runs along the outer circumference of the upper edge in the same direction at the same speed as the steps 3.
4 is a boarding gate. The handrail 2 includes a main deck 6, a handrail guide 7, and a handrail guide 7, which are installed on the upper surface of columns 5 that are erected at appropriate pitches on the main frame (not shown) of the passenger conveyor.
It is composed of an auxiliary deck 8, and the handrail guide 7 and decks 6, 8 are manufactured in a plurality of pieces to a workable length, that is, as illustrated by the * marks in FIGS. 1 and 2, and assembled.

The main deck 6 and handrail guide 7 are of equal length,
A cylindrical spacer 61 is placed under the main deck 6, a screw 62 is passed through it, and the spacer 61 is fastened to the pillar 5.
The auxiliary deck 8 has a C channel 9 of the same length as each auxiliary deck 8 divided by welding or other suitable method fixed to its back surface, and the opening side is connected to the support 5 by a screw through a leaf spring 91. It is attached by tightening with 92, and an interior plate 10 and an exterior plate 11 are further fitted. In the parapet 2, the main deck 6, handrail guide 7, and auxiliary deck 8 are curved at the U, V, and W portions shown in FIG. Both have an asymmetric cross-sectional shape with a horizontal L-shape, so the formed parts will be twisted, tilted, and deformed in cross-sectional shape, so these distortions can be removed by hammering or filing. It takes a lot of time to correct the external shape by cutting and refinishing the surface of the corrected part, and there are limits to manual distortion correction, and it is not possible to correct it with completely satisfactory accuracy. When assembling, it becomes difficult to assemble, resulting in poor work efficiency, and the cross-sectional shapes facing each other at the joining surfaces* shown in Figures 1 and 2 do not match, creating a step and exposing the edges.
Passengers may be injured if they touch the edges.
There were problems such as things that were not desirable for safety reasons.

This invention solves the above-mentioned drawbacks, and aims to provide a handrail that is safe for passengers and has a good appearance, having a main deck and an auxiliary deck that are precisely curved.

An embodiment of the present invention will be explained below with reference to FIG. In the figure, the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 1 to 3 indicate corresponding parts, and 60 is a main deck whose cross section is in the shape of channel steel with a lip. Inside, the handrail guide 7 is connected to a spacer 61 and a screw 62, as in the past. At the outside, the lower lip is fixed with a plate spring 91 and a screw 92 to prevent it from floating up. Reference numeral 80 designates an auxiliary deck having a groove-shaped cross section, the inner side wall of which is fixed to the outer surface of the main deck 60 by spot welding, screwing, gluing, etc. at an appropriate pitch, and the outer side wall is attached to the exterior plate 11. It is designed to cover the upper edge of the.

That is, both the main deck 60 and the auxiliary deck 80,
Since each cross section is configured to be symmetrical on the left and right, when manufacturing parts for curved parts U, V, W, etc., when forming a straight material with each cross-sectional shape into a curved shape, the horizontal Almost no warping, twisting, or cross-sectional deformation occurs, and a highly accurate external shape can be easily obtained.

In addition, the auxiliary deck 8 with a groove-shaped cross section can be manufactured more easily than the conventional C channel 9.
By setting it to 0, it is possible to reduce the number of parts and the time required to manufacture parts.

In addition, high-precision parts and a small number of parts not only improve assembly work efficiency, but also allow parts to be assembled flush on each joint surface of the main deck 60 and auxiliary deck 80, preventing dangerous edges from forming. Therefore, it is safe for passengers, and since there are no steps, it is possible to manufacture a handrail 2 that has a good appearance.

In addition, the upper surface of the auxiliary deck 80 is connected to the main deck 60.
It is installed lower than the upper surface by the dimension a shown in Figure 4, but this is because if the passenger conveyor is installed outdoors, waterproof caulking b shown in Figure 4 will be applied to the entire length of the deck.
The design makes it easier to fill the caulk. On the contrary, this design has 8 auxiliary decks.
The same effect can be obtained even if 0 is raised higher than the main deck 60.
Further, the upper surfaces of both can be made the same.

Further, the auxiliary deck 80 may be made of channel steel with a lip that is the same shape as the main deck 60.

As explained above, in this invention, the cross sections of the main deck that forms the side of the upper surface of the balustrade near the steps and the auxiliary deck that forms the remaining part of the upper surface of the balustrade are configured to be bilaterally symmetrical. Regardless of the problem, it is possible to obtain a handrail that can be manufactured easily and with high precision, and to realize a passenger conveyor that is safe, has an aesthetic appearance, and can be manufactured at low cost.
