Recently, thermography devices have been developed that detect tissue abnormalities by detecting microwaves emitted from within the body and measuring the temperature distribution of the body. Research is underway into a device that combines this thermography device and an endoscope to discover and treat tumors such as cancer from within body cavities. However, if the endoscope is provided with a forceps channel for the microwave detector and the endoscopic treatment tool, the endoscope insertion section will become thicker and cause pain to the patient. It was not possible to treat the affected area immediately after it was discovered by microwave detection.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an endoscope that serves both as a microwave detection forceps channel and an endoscope forceps channel.

As shown in FIG. 1, an endoscope 11 is provided with an optical fiber 12 and a forceps channel 13. The forceps channel 13 has flexibility, and at least the inner surface of the forceps channel 13 is made of a material with high electrical conductivity. In the embodiment, the forceps channel 13 is comprised of a plastic tube whose inner surface is metal-plated and functions as a microwave waveguide. A microwave receiving antenna 15 is installed at the tip of the endoscope tip 14 that communicates with the forceps channel 13.
is provided. Further, this forceps channel communicates with a forceps plug 17 provided in the endoscope operating section 16. A microwave receiver 18 is removably installed on the forceps plug 17. The microwave receiver 18 is connected to the receiver 20 via a conductive cable 19.

When the endoscope 11 as described above is inserted into a body cavity, microwaves emitted from inside the body cavity wall are received by the receiving antenna 15 and transmitted through the forceps channel 13 as a waveguide. Only a specific wavelength of the microwaves transmitted through the forceps channel 13 resonates and is detected by the microwave detector 18 and converted into an electrical signal. Electrical signals from microwave detector 18 are input to receiver 20 via conductive cable 19 . In the receiver 20, the received signal is amplified by an amplifier circuit, inputted to a post-processing circuit, and converted into a thermography information signal. This thermographic information signal is digitally converted and then displayed as a temperature value on the display. If an affected area, for example a tumor such as cancer, is found based on the temperature value displayed on the display 25, the microwave receiver 18 is removed from the forceps plug 17 and the endoscope processing instrument, for example, is inserted from the forceps plug 17 into the forceps channel 13. , a laser probe or forceps is inserted to treat the affected area.

As described above, according to the present invention, by using the forceps channel as a microwave waveguide, it is possible to quickly find the affected area using microwaves and perform subsequent treatment of the affected area without increasing the diameter of the endoscope insertion section. be able to.
