Generally, when repairing a seal around a glazing sash of a window glass, etc., it is difficult to cut out the old seal because the joint width is narrow, and even if it is cut, it is difficult to clean it. Therefore,
Even if new sealing is applied to the area, it still peels off, so the current practice is to repair using the overbridge method without cutting out the old sealing.

is attached, and a backup material 5 is attached to the outside thereof. Next, a new sealant 6 is filled into the groove formed by the window glass 1, the old sealant 3, and the backup material 5, and the upper surface thereof is finished with a spatula 7. After one to two weeks, the backup material 5 and tape 4 are peeled off, and the tape 8 and backup material 9 are pasted again below them as shown in FIG. The corners formed by the sash 2, the new sealant 6, and the reattached back-up material 9 are again filled with the new sealant 10, and finished with the spatula 7 into a triangular cross-section. One to two weeks after the above construction, the backup material 9 and tape 8 are removed to complete the repair work.

In contrast to the conventional method described above, the method of the first embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. The new sealing material 12 is applied in a build-up manner, and the lower edge of the spatula 13 having a specially shaped cutout recess 13a as shown in FIG. Finish the outer surface of the material 12. Each dimension A of the notch recess 13a of the spatula 13,
B and C can be freely selected depending on the shape and size of the intended sealing. Note that the backup material 11 is used for positioning the spatula 13, and may be omitted in place of other appropriate means.

As described above, in the first embodiment, the top and side surfaces of the new sealant 12 can be finished simultaneously with only one sealing finishing operation, and the back-up material 11 is attached for positioning the spatula 13. Therefore, since it can be peeled off immediately after the sealing is finished, there is an advantage that not only can the construction be completed in an extremely short time, but also that the outer surface of the new sealant 12 can be finished smoothly.
