In recent years, spray coating using a water-based high viscosity paint (for example, stucco finish coating) has been increasingly used. When applying this type of high-viscosity paint using a spray gun, the paint gradually dries and solidifies inside the gun body even during operation, which tends to cause clogging inside the gun body. In addition, sprayed paint adheres to the outside of the nozzle, dries and solidifies, and gradually grows into an icicle-like form (for example, in winter, it is easy to
It grows to a length of 50 mm in ~50 minutes and in 15-20 minutes in summer). As a result, the coating efficiency decreases, and furthermore, the coating pattern becomes distorted, which adversely affects the quality of the product. Therefore, conventionally, the nozzle cover and nozzle of the gun body were removed and the dried and solidified paint was removed and cleaned manually.
It has been difficult to completely remove anything that has flowed back into the air circuit.

A water inflow pipe for cleaning the inside of the gun body is connected through the nozzle; on the other hand, a scraping means movable relative to the nozzle of the gun body is provided to scrape off dried paint adhering to the outside of the nozzle of the gun body. This is achieved by the spray coating apparatus of the present invention, characterized in that the scraping means is provided with a water outlet for cleaning the outside of the nozzle and a water inlet pipe for supplying the cleaning water.

This relative movement may be such that the scraping means 9 is fixed and the gun body 1 is moved so as to skim over it, or vice versa. Furthermore, both may be movable. As shown in FIG. 1, the scraping means 9 is preferably in the shape of a spatula, or has a stretched wire rod, etc. The material of the scraping means 9 is, for example, rubber, and the material stretched with a wire rod is piano wire. A water outlet 10 is provided at the upper part of the scraping means 9, and a water supply pipe 11 for supplying water is further connected to the outlet 10. It is preferable to cover the scraping means with a suitable cloth 12,
Further, it is preferable to provide a gutter 13 for receiving the washed liquid blown out from the water outlet 10 and used for washing the outside of the nozzle 8.

When the workpiece A is transferred toward the front on the conveyor 26, the gun body 1 is transferred to the reciprocator 24.
Spray painting while moving from side to side. To remove paint that has dried and solidified inside the gun body, use the paint inflow pipe 4 of the gun body 1.
After closing the air inlet pipe 5, the gun body 1 is positioned on the right side and stopped, and the cleaned liquid recovery means 27 is positioned below it. The collecting means 27 may be normally located outside and can be moved to the position shown in the figure if necessary. Next, the cleaning water inflow pipe 7 is opened and cleaning water is forced in, thereby peeling off and dissolving the dried solidified paint inside the gun body 1, and discharging it from the nozzle 8 as a cleaned liquid.
7. Collect. In addition, to remove dried solidified paint that has adhered to the outside of the nozzle 8 in the form of icicles or whiskers, close all the tips 4, 5, and 7 of the gun body 1, position the gun body 1 on the left side, and scrape it off. The means 9 is moved by the telescopic cylinder 28 to just below it and scraped. At the same time, water is blown out from the water outlet 10 to clean the outside of the nozzle 8. As a result, the outside of the nozzle is moistened, and further adhesion of paint can be prevented as much as possible.
