本発明の軸封シールのようにシールリツプのシー

部が環状のシールリツプを押拡げて通過すると
き、シール部の軸部との接触面は、シールリツプ
が軸心に対して益々鋭角方向に弾性変形するの
で、大径部と非接触状態になる。その結果、軸部
との接触面は損傷されることがない。又、断面円
弧状に形成されたシール部は大径部となめらかに
接触摺動するので、挿入時における損傷を効果的
に防止することが期待できる。従つて、スプライ
ン軸への挿入時にシール部が損傷し、以後の運転
中に被密封流体が漏洩するような不具合を完全に
防止することが可能になる。
