Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain favorable seal action and to simplify the maintenance by forming lubricating oil guide ribs on the opposing surfaces of the cylinder block and the covering member so that these ribs will protrude from the surface and be abutted with each other. CONSTITUTION:A bearing hole 14 of a cam 13 is formed on the output shaft protruding surface 1a of a cylinder block 1, at the higher position than the bearing section 5 of a crank shaft 3. An oil seal member 11 is inserted between a crank shaft inserting hole 8 and the outside of the crank shaft 3. A lubricating oil guide rib 17 is formed between the lower part of the cam shaft hole 14 and the upper part of the crank shaft 3, extending approximately horizontally. The lubricating oil (A) flows over the upper surfaces 17a, 18a of the lubricating oil guide rib 17 and is supplied to the sliding section between an oil seal member 11 and the crank shaft 3. In this manner the sealing action of the oil seal member is maintained under favorable condition and the wear of oil seal member is prevented.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION <Industrial Application Field> The present invention is aimed at reducing excess lubricating oil supplied to a camshaft bearing part with respect to an oil seal part provided on the crankshaft output end side of a vertical internal combustion engine. This relates to a device that actively lubricates oil by guiding it.

<Prior art> Among internal combustion engines such as diesel engines,
In particular, in vertical internal combustion engines in which the output end of the crankshaft protrudes horizontally backward from the rear surface of the cylinder block, it is necessary to prevent lubricating oil in the cylinder block from leaking out of the engine along the outer peripheral surface of the crankshaft. In order to prevent this, an oil retainer portion is formed in a cover member such as a flywheel housing or a tractor mounting flange that is attached to cover the rear surface of the cylinder block, and the oil retainer portion and the outer circumferential surface of the crankshaft are connected to each other. An oil seal member is interposed between them to block the flow of lubricating oil.

By the way, the oil seal member interposed between the crankshaft and the cover member of this type of vertical internal combustion engine generally supplies an appropriate amount of lubricating oil at all times to prevent wear on the sliding parts. It is necessary to reduce friction with the outer peripheral surface.

Therefore, in conventional vertical internal combustion engines, the internal space of the cover member is opened to the inside of the crankcase, and the oil seal member is sprayed with lubricant by the lubricating oil splashes generated within the crankcase. However, the oil seal member is generally provided close to the main metal bearing of the crankshaft in order to downsize the engine, and is in the shadow of the main metal bearing, making it difficult for lubricating oil droplets to reach it. There was a problem in that the oil seal member was worn out due to insufficient supply of lubricating oil, resulting in lubricating oil leakage.

Of course, it is not impossible to ensure the amount of lubricant supplied to the oil seal member by introducing the lubricating oil from the oil gear on the cylinder block side through an external pipe or oil hole, but this method is not possible. If external piping is attached to the engine or new oil holes are installed, the number of engine parts, processing man-hours, and assembly man-hours will increase, leading to another problem of high engine manufacturing costs, which is difficult to implement. It was hot.

<Object of the Invention> The present invention focuses on the problem of the crankshaft oil seal lubricating means in the conventional vertical internal combustion engine, and the present invention focuses on the problem of the lubricating means for the crankshaft oil seal in the conventional vertical internal combustion engine. Lubricating oil guide ribs are provided on each opposing surface to direct excess lubricating oil discharged from the camshaft bearing hole to the oil seal member, so that the lubricating oil guide ribs are protruded against each other to guide the excess lubricating oil discharged from the camshaft bearing hole to the oil seal member, without adding external piping or oil holes. The objective is to lubricate the engine with oil, thereby solving the above-mentioned problems.

The lubricating device of the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration. Next, its operation will be explained. First, during engine operation, the lubricating oil pump is driven as the crankshaft 3 and the camshaft 13 rotate. However, when lubricating oil is supplied to the camshaft hole 14 through the shaft hole 16, the lubricating oil supplied to the camshaft hole 14 lubricates the sliding surfaces of the cam bearing 15 and the camshaft 13, and then The lubricating oil overflows from the shaft hole 14 in the directions of arrows A and B in FIG. Upper surfaces 17a, 1 of lubricating oil guide ribs 17, 18 formed on the flange 2
8a and is guided above the oil seal member 11, flows down from the tips of the ribs 17 and 18, and is supplied to the sliding portion between the oil seal member 11 and the crankshaft 3, thereby preventing the oil seal member 11 from being worn out. become.

At this time, the lubricating oil flowing along the lubricating oil guide ribs 17 and 18 flows through the mounting flange 2.
Since the upper surface 18a of the side rib 18 is lowered, the oil flows close to the inner surface 2a of the mountain flange 2 and reliably reaches the oil seal member 11 along the inner surface 2a.

<Effects of the Invention> As described above, the oil seal lubricating device of the present invention applies oil to the inner surface of the output shaft protruding end face of the cylinder block and the cover member such as the mounting flange surrounding the end face from the lower part of the camshaft bearing hole. Horizontal or downwardly inclined lubricating oil guide ribs are protruded across the upper part of the crankshaft so as to abut each other, and excess lubricating oil overflowing from the camshaft bearing hole is transferred to the mounting by the lubricating oil guiding ribs. The oil is guided above the crankshaft oil seal member provided on the flange, and flows down from the tip of the rib to be supplied to the sliding area between the oil seal member and the crankshaft. Unlike the splash lubrication method, the lubricant supply amount is insufficient and the oil seal member is not worn out, and an appropriate amount of lubricant can be supplied to maintain the good sealing action of the oil seal member. It has the excellent effect of extending the life of parts and making maintenance easier. Furthermore, the lubricating device of the present invention can be implemented by simply making slight changes to the mold and integrally forming the ribs when forming cylinder blocks and mounting flanges by casting, and can be used for external piping and drilling holes. Since this method does not require any additional components, it can be easily produced and is expected to have the effect of suppressing the rise in engine manufacturing costs.
