As a recording paper feeding device for transporting and cutting a strip of recording paper, a device as shown in FIG. 1 has conventionally been used in, for example, a thermal printer type facsimile receiving device. That is, in the figure, 1 is a thermal head, 2 is a pressure bonding/driving roller, and 3 is a thermal head.
are the electromagnetic cutters installed in front of the thermal head 1, 4
and 5 are feed rollers and pinch rollers, which perform recording with the thermal head 1 while conveying the strip-shaped recording paper 6 with the pressure bonding/driving roller 2.
The recorded portion 6a is further fed by feed and pinch rollers 4 and 5, and its terminal end is cut by an electromagnetic cutter 3. However, in the case where the recording paper passes through the recording means, that is, the thermal head 1, and then is cut by the cutter 3 in front of it, the tip of the unrecorded portion 6b of the recording paper 6 reaches the cutter position. However, since the part where recording is actually performed is at the thermal head position, the unrecorded part 6 existing between the cutter 3 and the thermal head 1
The area b becomes a blank area where no recording is performed, which is very uneconomical when using a strip of recording paper. Furthermore, since this margin is located at the leading edge of the recording paper 6, it will spoil the appearance after recording. In order to improve this drawback, there is also an apparatus in which the pressing/driving roller 2 is rotated in the opposite direction after cutting the recording paper 6, so that the unrecorded portion 6b is retreated and the leading edge is returned to the thermal head 1. However, in this device, it is necessary to control the pressing/driving roller 2 in reverse rotation, so controlling the recording paper feed is very troublesome.

The operation of this recording paper feeding device will be described. First, when the facsimile receiving device 21 receives an image signal from the facsimile transmitting device, it first outputs a drive signal for each roller to the drive control device 22, and this drive control device 22 receives these drive signals and controls each motor 15, 18. The pressure bonding/driving roller 14 and the feed roller 16 are rotated. The belt-shaped recording paper 11 is pulled out from the storage section 12 by the rotation of the pressure-driving roller 14 and the feed roller 16, and is continuously transported, passing through the perforated cutter 19 and the thermal printer 13. The receiving device 21 further sends a recording signal corresponding to the image signal to the thermal head 1.
3, and the information is recorded on the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 passing by the thermal head 13. Note that the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is pressed onto the thermal head 13 by a pressing/driving roller 14 . Further, when the receiving device 21 outputs a perforation cutter drive signal to the drive control device 22 in a manner described later, the drive control device 22 drives the electromagnet 20,
Since the movable blade 19a of the perforation cutter 19 is driven, a perforation 11c is formed at the end of the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 passing through the perforation cutter 19.
is formed. After forming the perforation with the perforation cutter 19, the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is transported and the recording target area 11a is moved by the thermal head 13.
When the perforation 11c slightly passes the thermal head 13 (this passage is detected by driving the electromagnet 20 based on the perforation cutter drive signal from the receiving device 21, The detection is performed by checking how much the electric motor 15 is driven based on the crimping/driving roller drive signal.Incidentally, various known detection means such as using a light emitting element and a light receiving element can be used. ), the receiving device 21 outputs a pressing and driving roller stop signal, and the drive control device 22 stops driving the electric motor 15 to stop the rotation of the pressing and driving roller 14. At this point, the portion of the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 that has already finished recording, that is, the portion in front of the perforation 11c, is transferred to the thermal head 13.
A portion of the next recording target portion 11b which is located further forward and has not yet finished recording, that is, a portion rearward of the perforation 11c is located rearward of the thermal head 13. Further, the feed roller 16 continues to rotate by the electric motor 18, and the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is pulled forward by the feed roller 16 and the pinch roller 17. The recording target portion 11b is pressed and fixed to the thermal head 13 by a pressing/driving roller 14 whose leading end has stopped rotating, thereby stopping its transfer. Therefore, (the end of) the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is separated from (the leading edge of) the recording target portion 11b via the perforation 11c, and is further transported and sent out. Further, the recording target portion 11b of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is connected to a pressure bonding and driving roller 14.
The transfer is stopped and the next information recording based on the recording signal from the receiving device 21 is awaited. When the recording signal and roller drive signal are output from the receiving device 21, the recording target portion 11b of the strip-shaped recording paper 11
Recording by a thermal head 13 and transfer by a pressing/driving roller 14 are performed. FIG. 3 shows the process of transporting and cutting such a strip-shaped recording paper 11, in which FIG. 3a shows the time of transport, b shows the time of perforation formation, and c shows the time of separation.

Here, the control for forming perforations on the strip-shaped recording paper 11 will be explained. The perforation cutter driving signal is outputted from the receiving device 21 before the information recording is completed, and is driven by the perforation cutter 19 so that the size of the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 matches the size of the transmitted document, for example. A perforation is formed at the end of the recording target section 11a. Specifically, the transmitting device may transmit a signal representing the size of the transmitted document prior to the image signal, or
Alternatively, the end of the transmitted document may be detected in parallel with the optical reading and scanning of the transmitted document, and this detection signal may be transmitted to the receiving device 21 together with the image signal.
In the former case, the receiving device 21 outputs a perforation cutter drive signal when the recording target section 11a is transferred by the difference between the length of the transmitted document and the length between the cutter and the head, and in the latter case, the receiving device 21 outputs a perforation cutter drive signal. Outputs a drive signal immediately upon receiving a detection signal.

In the recording paper feeding device of this embodiment, the perforation cutter 19 provided between the recording paper storage section 12 and the thermal head 13 allows the end of the recording target portion 11a of the strip-shaped recording paper 11 to reach the thermal head 13. Since the perforation 11c is formed at the front, information can be immediately recorded by the thermal head 13 at the leading end of the next recording target section 11b, and then the perforation 11c at the end of the recording target section 11a When it passes, the pressure bonding/driving roller 14 is stopped and the recording target area 11b is
Since the transfer of the recording medium is stopped and the recording of information by the thermal head 13 is on standby, there is no wasteful blank space where no recording is performed at the leading end of the recording target section 11b. In particular, in this embodiment, when the pressure bonding/driving roller 14 is stopped, the feed roller 16 is rotating and the recording target area 11 is rotated.
Since the recording target section 11a is cut and separated from the recording target section 11b, the recording target section 11a can be cut at the position of the recording means = thermal head 13, and the tip of the next recording target section 11b is located at the thermal head 13. Also, no unnecessary blank space is generated at the leading end of the recording target section 11b. Furthermore, since the perforations 11c are formed in the recording target section 11a before the information recording ends, no wasted blank space is created at the end. Moreover, the strip-shaped recording paper 11 is attached to the thermal head 1.
Rather than cutting completely before reaching the thermal head 13, the perforation 11c is formed, and the cutting is performed via the perforation 11c after the perforation 11c passes through the thermal head 13, so it is cut before reaching the thermal head 13. As in the case of the next recording target section 11b
There is no need for a guide member to guide and send the thermal head 13, and the configuration is simple. Furthermore, no margin is formed at the leading end of the next recording target section 11b of the strip-shaped recording paper 11, and the perforation 11c is located at the end of the thermal head 1.
Since it is formed in front of 3, the pressure bonding and driving roller 1
4 does not have to be reversely rotated to cause the recording target portion 11b to retreat to the thermal head 13, and the pressing/driving roller 14 only needs to be rotated in the forward direction, the reverse rotation of the recording paper 11 can be easily controlled.

It should be noted that the recording paper feeding device of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, but can be modified and implemented in various ways without changing the gist thereof. An example is described below. The timing for driving the perforation cutter can be set arbitrarily. For example, in electronic calculators other than facsimile receivers, the drive is activated before the end of recording based on the remaining amount of information to be recorded. When the perforation cutter is driven, it is arbitrary whether the strip of recording paper is being transported or temporarily stopped.
It is necessary to stop the pressing/driving roller in order to stop the strip of recording paper so as to wait for information recording by the recording means, and it is optional whether or not to stop the feed roller when this roller is stopped. That is, if the feed roller is not stopped, each recording target portion of the recording paper on which information has been recorded is separated one by one and comes out. When the feed roller is stopped, a plurality of recorded recording target portions are not separated but come out consecutively. However, in this case, a manual switch for driving the feed roller and a switch for switching whether or not the feed roller is interlocked with the pressing/driving roller are required. The drive roller for driving the strip-shaped recording paper may not be used also as the pressure roller, but may be constructed separately and provided between the recording means and the perforation cutter.
The recording means is not limited to a thermal printer, but may be any type such as a discharge destruction type or an inkjet printer.

As explained above, the recording paper feeding device of the present invention is configured to stop the conveyance of the strip of recording paper when the perforation formed in the strip of recording paper according to the size of the recording target portion passes through the recording means. Therefore, it is possible to record without creating a wasteful blank space at the leading edge, which is economical, and it is easy to control the transfer of the recording paper, and the structure is simple.
