Recently, in automatic teller machines, deposit machines, etc. that have a built-in passbook printing device, if there is no more printing space on the page while printing a passbook, the device automatically turns the page inside the device, opens the page, and prints. A mechanism to continue this process has been put into practical use for the convenience of users.

By the way, passbooks can be roughly divided into horizontal passbooks (No. 2000 type) with bindings parallel to the printing direction, and vertical passbooks (No. 42 type) with bindings perpendicular to the printing direction, but these are not currently in practical use. The only thing that has been standardized is the one that automatically turns the horizontal passbook.
There was no automatic way to turn vertical passbooks, making it inconvenient for users.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings. FIG. 1 shows the configuration of the passbook printing device. 1 is the passbook entrance of the conveyance path F, 2 is the roller that conveys the passbook A, 3 is the shutter at the entrance, 4 is the magnetic head that reads the magnetic information of the passbook A, 5 is an optical element for detecting printed lines, 6 is a print head, and 7 is a page turning device. The page turning device 7 is constructed as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. That is, 8 is a board, and frames 9, 9 are erected on both sides of this board 8. The frames 9, 9
Feed rollers 10, 10 are spanned between the two, and these feed rollers 10, 10 are rotated in forward and reverse directions by a motor (not shown). Further, above the rollers 10, 10, feed rollers 10, 1 are provided.
Pinch rollers 11, 11 that move toward and away from the center are provided, and these pinch rollers 11, 11 are supported by an arm 13 that rotates around a support shaft 12. A plunger solenoid 15 is connected to the other ends of the arms 13, 13 via a lever 14, and is urged by a spring 16 to rotate clockwise.

On the other hand, reference numerals 17 and 17 indicate turning rollers serving as page opening means for turning over and opening page a of the bankbook A. It is designed to be rotated in forward and reverse directions by a motor 20 via a belt 21. A plunger solenoid 22 is connected to the other ends of the arms 19, 19, and a spring 23 is spanned between the other ends. Further, below the turning rollers 17, 17, idle rollers 24, 24 for bringing these turning rollers 17, 17 into contact with and away from each other are arranged. Also,
25, 25 are shutter guides that regulate the width of the passbook conveyance path F in the lateral direction, and these shutter guides 2
The lower ends of 5 and 25 are connected to a solenoid 27 via an arm 26, and the arm 26 is pressed by a spring 28.

In the above-described configuration, when a passbook A is inserted through the passbook slot 1, the feed roller 2 sends it to the magnetic head 4, the optical element 5, and then to the print head 6, where information is printed.
When the print space on page a runs out, a signal detecting this causes the feed roller 2 and rollers 10 and 1 to
0 is rotated, the solenoids 15, 15 are turned on, and the bankbook A is set as shown in FIG. 4a. After that, solenoid 15 is turned off,
Pinch roller 11 due to the biasing force of spring 16
is changed upward, the solenoid 22 is turned on, and the turning roller 17 is displaced downward and comes into contact with page a of the bankbook A. In this state, the turning roller 17 is rotated in the direction of the arrow, and the page a is turned up as shown in b in FIG. Then, when this page a is turned over by a predetermined amount or after a predetermined period of time has elapsed, the rotation of the turning roller 17 is stopped. Thereafter, the solenoid 15 is turned on again, the pinch roller 11 is displaced downward and presses one end of the passbook A, and the turning roller 17 is rotated again to turn page A into the fourth page.
Turn up one sheet as shown in c in the figure. During this turning up, the page a below the page a to be turned up is pressed by the pinch roller 11, so it is not turned up, and double turning is reliably prevented. After page a is turned over in this way, the pinch roller 11 is again displaced upward, the solenoid 27 is turned on, the arm 26 is rotated downward against the pressing force of the spring 28, and the shutter guide 25 is rotated. At the same time, the turning roller 17 is rotated in the opposite direction to move the passbook A in the direction opposite to the turning direction of page a, and open page a as shown in d in FIG. Thereafter, the turning roller 17 is reversely rotated again to return the bankbook A, and its end surface comes into contact with the shutter guide 25 and is stopped, thereby completing the opening operation of the bankbook A. Incidentally, when opening page a of bankbook A in the opposite direction, the same procedure as described above can be used.

As mentioned above, the passbook A is
Since the page a of the vertical bankbook A is turned over in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction and the bankbook A is moved in the opposite direction to the turning direction, automatic page opening of the vertical bankbook A becomes possible.

Furthermore, by controlling the vertical displacement of the pinch roller 11, it is possible to prevent page a from being turned over twice, and by controlling the shutter guide 25, the passbook A that has been once protruded from the conveyance path F can be reliably returned to the conveyance path F. Note that in the above embodiment, a bankbook is used as the booklet, but the present invention is not limited to this, and any booklet may be used.

As explained above, the present invention opens pages of booklets that are transported with binding lines along the transport direction by moving the page-opening procedure in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction. Even if the booklet is in a vertical format, the pages can be opened automatically, which is extremely convenient for the user.
