本発明は、製鉄所等において用いられ、高熱物
運搬車をけん引する機関車において、車体前後に
設けられた簡易運転室の窓ガラスおよび該窓ガラ
ス取付け用の型ゴムを保護するために設置された

必要ない場合、第2図中実線で示すように防熱板
4は下方に下げ、下受け金6に掛けておく。高熱
物運搬車をけん引する場合は、窓ガラス2および
型ゴム3を保護する必要があるため、防熱板4を
下受け金6から外し、回動させて窓ガラス2上部
に取り付けてある上受け金7に掛け、窓ガラス2
および型ゴム3を高熱運搬車の輻射熱から保護す
るという構成となつていた。ところが、このよう
な構成においては防熱板4に鋼板を使用している
ところから、該防熱板4自体が重く、操作に非常
な力を要するとともに、操作中誤つて手を滑らせ
た場合、大怪我の危険性があるという欠点があつ
た。また、上記のような構成においては、防熱板
4を回動させる際には必ず簡易運転室1の外に出
て作業を行なわなければならず、降雨時および夜
間においては作業が煩雑であり、事故の発生する
可能性が高いという欠点があつた。
