The meter cable that transmits the rotation of the transmission to the speedometer of an automobile is composed of a metal flexible shaft and a protective tube. A technique has been proposed that prevents the generation of sliding noise and knocking noise when the flexible shaft rotates. For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 47-46284 describes a method for manufacturing a flexible protection tube for a flexible shaft guided with radial play, in which an adhesive layer is applied to a strip wire, and then flocking is performed by electrostatic processing. A method is disclosed in which the wire strip is wound into a coil after the adhesive is cured, and the coil body is then covered with a plastic layer.

However, since this method uses metal material as the strip wire, the weight of the entire meter cable becomes large, making it difficult to reduce the weight. Also, large-scale equipment is required to form and process it into a coil body. Furthermore, there were problems such as the flocked fine fibers being crushed during pressure molding.

That is, in the present invention, a flocked layer is formed on a thin strip-shaped synthetic resin plate by electrostatic processing, and the synthetic resin plate is longitudinally formed using a dryer having forming holes that expand in the shape of a funnel at the front. The forming hole is moved and curved on both sides in the longitudinal direction so that the free ends are brought close together to form an annular shape, and a coating layer is provided on the outer periphery of the forming hole.

Below, this invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.
In the figure, 1 is a narrow band-shaped plate made of thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polyamide resin, polyester resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, etc., and the plate 1 is bonded while being moved in the longitudinal direction by a take-up roll (not shown). The agent layer 2 is provided, and the flocked layer 3 is formed by a known electrostatic processing method.

The flocked layer 3 is made of 0.1 to 0.5 fine fibers of 1.5 to 70 deniers made of polyamide resin such as 6-nylon, 6,6-nylon, rayon, polyester resin, etc.
The pieces cut into lengths of mm are electrostatically adhered to 5,000 to 50,000 pieces per cm 2 by a known electrostatic processing method. Further, the adhesive 2 is appropriately selected depending on the plate 1 to be used and the material of the fibers to be flocked.

The plate body 1 on which the flocked layer 3 is formed is curved on both sides in the longitudinal direction as shown in FIG.
1a is further curved as shown in D and E, and its free ends are brought close together or joined to form an annular shape as shown in F.

Figure 2 shows the flocked plate 1 curved as shown in the figure.
The plate 1 enters a dryer 9 with a presser roll 7 and a plurality of cartridges 8, where the adhesive 2 is dried and hardened.
Short fibers constituting the flocked layer 3 are fixed. The dryer 9 is provided with a forming hole 11 that expands into a funnel shape 10 at the front, and becomes circular by passing through the hole 11.

As described above, this invention involves forming a flocked layer on a thin strip-shaped synthetic resin plate by electrostatic processing, and using a dryer having a forming hole that expands in the shape of a funnel at the front, this synthetic resin plate is dried in the longitudinal direction. By moving the forming holes and curving both sides in the longitudinal direction and standing up, the free ends are brought close together to form an annular shape, and a covering layer is provided on the outer periphery of the forming hole. When molding a resin plate into an annular shape, no core material is used for molding, so the uprightness of the flocked layer is completely maintained, making it easy to create flocked resin cables with stable flocking conditions and lightweight synthetic resin protective tubes. It can be manufactured at low cost using suitable equipment.
