DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention involves rolling a heat-resistant support belt having an ink layer made of a heat-fusible material in contact with a recording paper, and installing a thermal head on the back side of the support belt. The present invention relates to a transfer type thermal recording device that can be used repeatedly and performs recording by generating heat to melt the ink layer and transferring it onto recording paper.

54-161946 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-152077, an ink film is prepared by applying a hot melt ink to an ink support belt with an ink applicator, and then a thermal printing element such as a thermal head is used to prepare an ink film. This is done by melting only the printed part and transferring it to recording paper.

As a result of printing tests performed using the device shown in Figure 1, the biggest drawback of this device was that the device could be turned on, off, or
When activated, ink coating becomes uneven as shown in Figure 2, resulting in printing that is very difficult to see and loss of stable printing continuity.
That is, in the conventional method as shown in FIG. 1, the scope of use is naturally limited due to the above-mentioned drawbacks, and it cannot be used in fields where intermittent feeding is required, such as facsimile machines and computer output printers.

The present invention eliminates the various drawbacks of the prior art described above, and includes an endless ink support belt, a rotating means for rotating the ink support belt, and a rotating means that rotates the ink support belt under contact pressure at room temperature. For recording paper,
A heat pulse is applied to an application roller that applies ink that is non-adhesive and becomes tacky upon heating to the ink support belt in a sticky state, and the ink support belt that has an ink layer formed by the application roller. and a thermal energy supplying means for depositing ink on the recording paper in contact with the ink layer. The transfer type thermal recording apparatus is characterized in that it is provided with a control means for controlling the rotating means so as to temporarily reverse the ink support belt when the ink support belt is restarted.

The present invention provides a control means (not shown) for the drive motor (not shown) for rotating the ink support belt of the conventional apparatus shown in FIG. It is also preferable that the applicator roll 6 is provided with a scraping blade 8 during reverse rotation (third step).

In the conventional printer, when printing is stopped and restarted, the ink coating layer bulges at the part where the applicator roll 6 and the ink support belt 5 are in contact, as shown in FIG. Stable and continuous printing is lost. At this time, the system is rotated slightly in the opposite direction to dissolve the raised part and re-coat, thereby smoothing out the raised part and maintaining continuous printability.

The reversal time in the present invention is not particularly limited to a finite value, as long as it is sufficient time for the ink layer on the support belt to become smooth, and varies depending on the properties of the ink.

Example In the apparatus shown in Figure 1, the support belt was moved at a speed of 60 mm/sec, and an ink layer that softened at 80°C was used to apply an ink layer to a thickness of 20 μm on the support belt. Printing was performed using a thermal head. When printing is finished and the machine is restarted, the ink layer has grown to an additional 20 μm in thickness, as shown in Figure 2.
When the amount of ink applied was large and printing was performed in this area, the image area spread and became unsightly. On the other hand, in the embodiment of the present invention, the system is reversed so that the ink supply roll (diameter 30 mm) rotates once in the reverse direction, and then rotated in the normal direction to supply ink and print. The ink layer becomes flat as shown in Figure 4,
The obtained image had extremely high uniformity.

As described above, when performing thermal recording using the apparatus of the present invention and performing intermittent feeding, it is possible to obtain an image with significantly higher uniformity than that of the conventional apparatus. As a result, it can be used even in fields where intermittent feeding is required, and the range of use is greatly expanded compared to existing ones.
