たウエザーストリツプ取付方法に関するものであ
る。

トリツプ3の装着にあたつては、取付部4がフラ
ンジ1に押込まれると、両脚5自体の剛性と爪7
とによつてフランジ1に固定される。即ち爪7の
先端部がフランジ1に圧接し雨水等の侵入を防止
する構造となつている。しかしながら、第1図及
第2図に示されるように、開口部フランジ1は1
枚ものの鉄板ではなく、一般には数箇所溶接によ
る継目がある。該継目はフランジとフランジを重
ね合わせた板金接続重ね合わせ部Fとなり、重ね
合わせ部Fでは、鉄板の厚さ分だけ段差G,Hが
発生している。従つて該段差部G,Hでは爪7の
先端部が馴染まないため爪7とフランジ1との間
に空隙が出来、雨水等のくぐり侵入をゆるす結果
となつていた。爪7の挙動を第4図乃至第6図に
示す。このくぐり水Jの侵入に対し従来は第7図
の如く取付部4の空間部8にシーラント9を充填
したり、爪7の材質や形状を変更するなど種々の
対策が検討されてきたが、いずれも技術的に困難
を伴い、部品コストが高くなつたり、工数が多く
なるなど、実用的に完全なものではなかつた。

接し更に該スポンジ10の両端より長手方向に適
当にはみ出す平滑な合成樹脂製フイルム11を重
ね、該フイルム11の両端を長手方向に引張つた
状態でフランジ1に貼付け、該フイルム11を重
ね合わせ部Fの外側にスポンジ10を介してなだ
らかに沿着したのち、前記ウエザーストリツプ3
のU字形取付部4を装着することによりくぐり水
止水をするようにしたもので、自動車車体の開口
部2の周縁特にフランジ重ね合わせ部Fの段差
G,Hにより発生したウエザーストリツプ取付部
4からの雨水等のくぐり水Jの侵入といつた不具
合を、フランジ重ね合わせ部Fに接着剤層12を
介したスポンジ10とフイルム11との積層品1
4を用いてウエザーストリツプ3を装着すること
により完全に解消したものでくぐり水の止水に大
きな効果のあるものである。
