環用水ポンプとを少なくとも備え、一方の吐出口
は、前記一方のシリンダブロツクの前記一端面に
開口する流入口に直接連通され、また他方の吐出
口は、他方のシリンダブロツクの前記一端面に開
口する流入口に、前記カバーに一体に形成した導
管部を介して連通されるので、水ポンプと一方の
シリンダブロツクとの間の冷却水管路を省略でき
る上、同ポンプと他方のシリンダブロツクとの間
の冷却水管路を調時伝動装置のカバーの一部(導
管部)が兼ねることになり、従つて水ポンプと両
シリンダブロツク間の配管構造が簡素化され、コ
ストの低減及び配管作業性の向上に寄与すること
ができ、また前記カバーに導管部を一体化したこ
とにより、その導管部が補強リブの機能を果たし
該カバーの剛性を高めることができる。さらに水
ポンプが両シリンダブロツクの中間部に位置しな
いので、機関を車体に据付ける場合、その中間部
でブラケツト等により支持することができ、機関
