Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the outer diameter of a rotary filter small by rotating plural filters installed in a rotor which turns white light projected from an illuminating light source into light in different wavelength band with the aid of an ultrasonic motor. CONSTITUTION:The white light projected from the light source lamp 22 becomes nearly parallel luminous flux on a condensing lens 23 and is made incident on the rotary filter 30. The light sequentially penetrates through respective filters 42R, 42G and 42B installed in a turret 40 whose driving source is the ultrasonic motor 35 in the filter 30 and is separated to each color light in terms of time series. And each color light is condensed by the condensing lens 24 and made incident on the incident end of a light guide 25. The ultrasonic motor 35 which is the above-mentioned driving source is small and is installed on the outer peripheral part of the turret 40, so that the color filters can be installed in the center part. The diameter of the filter 30 can be made small in proportion to the above-mentioned effect and the scaling-down of an entire device can be attained.
