Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and the color reproducibility of the titled material by providing with a layer which contains a DIR compd. and a photosensitive silver halide emulsion and does not form substantially a color image, in the titled material adjacent to at least one layer of emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The layer (DIR layer) comprises at least one layer of each a blue photosensitive emulsion layer, a green photosensitive emulsion layer and a red photosensitive emulsion layer which contain a color coupler, respectively, and are mounted on a supporting body, and do not form substantially the color image. Said DIR layer is provided with the titled material adjacent to at least one layer of the emulsion layers. Wherein the DIR compd. is a compd. capable of liberating a development inhibitor or a development inhibitor- releasing compd. by reacting with the oxidant of a color developing main agent. And, the meaning of forming substantially no color image lies in that the max. optical density of the titled material after developing processing is <=0.3, further preferably <=0.03 in transmittance density. Thus, the sensitivity and the color reproducibility of the titled material are improved.
