あるとワークの被研磨面と研磨布紙4との接触時
間がきわめて短く両者間で大きな摩擦が生じない
ので、研削研磨性が非常に悪いという問題があつ
た。

磨面に垂直状態で当接するので、ワークに傷がつ
くという問題があつた。しかも、研削研磨性が向
上するとはいえ、研磨布紙の布又は紙等の基材も
被研磨物に当接するので、研削研磨性の大幅な向
上は期待できない。

即ち、第5図に示す如く、回転体21の幅lより
長尺な長方形状をした多数の研磨布紙片22を、
所定寸法ずつずらせ、かつ、回転体21の軸方向
に対し所定角度だけ傾斜させた状態で回転体21
の外周面21aに重層させて行き、これと同時に
各研磨布紙片22の回転体21の外周面21aと
接触する部分、及び重層部の一部分を順次接着固
定し、各研磨布紙片22を連結することにより、
回転体21の外周面に研磨布紙片22を巻付け
る。このようにして、研磨布紙片22を回転体2
1の外周面21aに巻付けると、次に回転体21
の両端に食み出した研磨布紙片22の両端部22
a,22aを第3図に示す如く、回転体21の内
周面21bに巻込み、かつ、この両端部22a,
