For example, the branch connection of one optical fiber and two optical fibers was developed by Tokuko Showa.
Although it is publicly known from the publication No. 47-45238, here 2
The problem is to guide the optical signal guided through the main fiber into a single fiber, and it also requires a complicated configuration such as having to provide a branching device with a lens corresponding to each fiber on the input side. There is.

Furthermore, although it is known in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 48-31962 that the end faces of optical fibers are butted against each other for connection, there is no mention of branching of optical fibers. Furthermore, the use of adhesives on the connecting end surfaces of optical fibers was disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 1973-
This is known from Japanese Patent No. 17243, etc., but in any case, the optical fibers are butt-connected within a sleeve or the like, which requires complicated labor to connect them.

According to the present invention, this object is achieved by providing an optical fiber branching device for branching and guiding an optical signal guided through one optical fiber to two subsequent optical fibers, each optical fiber being connected to the surface of a substrate. The output end face of the input optical fiber is arranged closely adjacent to the input end face of the following output optical fiber, and all these end faces are immersed. This is achieved by coating with a liquid adhesive.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, the substrate 1 is formed from a thermoplastic material. Other easily processable materials can also be used in place of thermoplastic materials. Board 1
One input optical fiber 13 and two output optical fibers 14, 15 are arranged in the channels 10, 11, 12, each formed as a V-shaped guide groove running in parallel therein. At this time, the end face 16 of the optical fiber 13 is the end face 1 of the optical fibers 14 and 15 for both outputs.
They are arranged closely adjacent to each other so as to span 7 and 18. The end faces of the three optical fibers are covered with an immersion polymeric resin layer (adhesive) 19 having adhesive strength and partially covering the substrate surface. That is, the resin layer has a refractive index that matches the refractive index of the core of the optical fiber in order to optimally transmit optical signals from one fiber to the other. Due to the adhesive action of the resin, a permanent, trouble-free and non-dissociating bond between the fibers is obtained, and in this embodiment, the optical signal coming from the optical fiber 13 on the right side is connected to the two optical fibers connected on the left side. 1
It becomes possible to branch into 4 and 15 and transmit them.
