DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to gloves and a method for knitting the same, and relates to gloves with pile loops on the surface, gloves with plain knitted backs on the surface, etc., in which the end of knitting is formed at the end edge of the wrist part. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a glove which does not have any position, does not require special knitting yarn end treatment at the edge part, and can maintain good tightness at the wrist part.

Conventionally, automatically knitted gloves are made by knitting the four fingers (little finger, ring finger, middle finger, and index finger), then knitting the upper palm back, thumb, lower palm back, and wrist, and the knitting ends at the edge of the wrist. was. However, when knitting with this method, the edges of the knitted fabric must be secured by overstitching or other means to prevent the yarn ends from fraying at the end of knitting, at the wrist edge where the most force is applied and the yarn tends to fray. Must be. Furthermore, since the knitted fabric for the wrist area has the same number of wales as the knitted fabric for the palmar area, elastic threads such as rubber threads have been inserted into the fabric to strengthen the tightening force at the wrist area. For this reason, an elastic thread is required separately from the thread for knitting the fingers or the back of the palm, which also causes an increase in manufacturing costs. Furthermore, it has been considered that a situation may occur in which the tightening force is reduced due to the elastic thread being cut during use.

Some work gloves used in the United States and other countries use terry cloth, but when the terry cloth is used up to the wrists, the knitted fabric becomes thicker, and even if elastic thread is inserted into the wrists, it does not tighten. There were times when I couldn't get enough power.

FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 show a front view and a center-cut end view of the glove of the present invention. The glove 1 of the present invention is similar to conventional gloves in that it consists of a little finger 2, a ring finger 3, a middle finger 4, an index finger 5, an upper palm back part 6, a thumb 7, a lower palm back part 8, and a wrist part 9. The number of knitted fabric wales in part 9 is smaller than the number of knitted fabric wales in lower palmar part 8. The knitted fabric of the wrist part 9 is knitted to a length twice the length of the wrist part 9 when completed, and is folded back from the middle so that the end edge of the knitted part forms the lower palm part 8 and the wrist part 9. The yarn is knitted together in the Sakai pattern, and a slightly coarser knitted portion 10 is further knitted. The knitted fabric for each part may be of any type, such as plain knitting, pile knitting, mesh pattern knitting, etc., but when knitting the wrist part, be sure to pause an appropriate number of the needles used for knitting the palmar part and use other needles. must be organized. This makes the number of wales at the wrist smaller than the number of wales at the back of the palm, increasing the tightening force at the wrist.
In the example shown in FIG. 1, the number of wales in the wrist part 9 is 1/2 of the number of wales in the lower palmar part 8, and the knitting is turned inside out.

Next, a method of knitting the glove of the present invention will be explained.
The glove of the present invention is similar to the knitting of conventional gloves in that the wrist part is knitted following the little finger 2, ring finger 3, middle finger 4, index finger 5, upper palm back part 6, thumb 7, and lower palm back part 8, It is now assumed that the final course of the lower palmar region 8 has been formed. Up to the final course, the knitted fabric of the lower palmar part 8 is knitted using all the needles, as schematically shown in FIG. This knitted fabric may be of any suitable type, such as plain knitting, pile knitting, or patterned knitting. Then, when knitting the wrist portion 9, some of the needles 11 are placed at a rest position while the loops of the knitted fabric are retained on the needles 11. The greater the number of needles 11 placed in the rest position, the fewer the number of wales on the wrist 9, which increases the tightening force when worn, but even if the diameter of the wrist of the glove is too small for the thickness of the wrist. This will cause inconvenience to wear. The needle 11 is normally placed in the rest position and the needle 12 is placed in the working position.
The ratio is about 1:1, 1:2, 2:2.

Next, the wrist portion 9 is knitted using the needles 12 other than the needle 11 in the rest position while feeding the yarn. The thickness and type of thread used at this time may be changed as appropriate. As shown in FIG. 4, the knitted fabric 9a forming the wrist portion is pushed down and hangs in the bag of the lower palmar portion 8 by the action of a sinker (not shown). Then, the palm back part 8 is locked to the needle 11 in the rest position at the gap between the wrist part 9 and the lower palm back part 8,
It is in a dormant state. When the knitted fabric 9a of the wrist section reaches a predetermined length as shown in FIG. 5 by the subsequent knitting of the wrist section, the needles 11, which have been at the rest position, are raised to the operating position. Then, as shown in Fig. 6, by feeding yarn to all needles from the next course, the knitting end of the knitted fabric 9a of the wrist part and the knitted fabric of the knitting end of the palm back part 8 are knitted together, and then Several courses of the loose knitting section 10 are knitted using all the needles. When the knitting of the waste knitting section 10 is completed, the yarn is cut,
You can leave it as is, but if necessary, discard the yarn. The discarded yarn can be processed by tying the yarn end, crocheting the discarded knitting part 10, or by using heat-fusible yarn in the discarded knitting part and heating the discarded knitted part. If the threads are fused and fixed together, the threads will not unravel from this portion. Next, when the wrist portion 9 hanging down within the lower palmar portion 8 is pulled out, the state shown in FIG. 7 is obtained in which the folded portion 10 is located on the outside. Therefore, the first side is turned over so that the waste part 10 is located on the inside.
The glove of the present invention as shown in FIGS.

When using the method of the present invention, in the case of gloves knitted using a plain knitting method, the back stitches will appear on the surface of the final product, and a large number of lateral yarns with the back stitches will appear on the glove surface, which will reduce surface friction. It allows for larger gloves and eliminates defects such as hand slipping during use.

Furthermore, when knitting a pile glove according to the method of the present invention, the pile will be exposed on the inner surface of the glove, and by reversing this, a glove with piles clustered on the surface can be obtained.

Furthermore, knitting the wrist part requires fewer needles than the number of needles used to knit the palmar part.
The wrist part is thinner than the palmar part, and the wrist tightening effect can be exerted even without particularly knitting elastic threads.

When knitting the wrist part, a knitted fabric twice the length of the wrist part is knitted, then it is folded back and the folded edges are knitted together at the part of the palm and the wrist part, so when worn, the wrist part is knitted. What appears at the edge of the knitted fabric is the folded knitted fabric, and no fraying or the like of the knitted fabric occurs from that part.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the number of wales in the palmar part and the wrist part is changed, but it is of course possible to change not only the number of wales but also the thickness, thread, etc. of the thread used. be.
