During a withdrawal transaction, a banknote detected on the take-in conveyance path of the denomination storage that is not related to the transaction operation, or a banknote that has gotten lost in the machine for some reason, suddenly appears and is detected by the banknote detection means in the previous stage during the conveyance process. This refers to banknotes whose origin is suspicious, such as banknotes detected by the subsequent banknote detection means, and it is unclear whether the bank's banknotes (originally in the banknote deposit/dispensing machine) belong to the customer.

するのが容易でないためである。 Conventionally, such monitoring of the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes has been carried out by using the plurality of banknote detection means and by comparing the detection outputs with a control unit comprising a microcomputer or the like and determining or counting them. The occurrence of unmanaged banknotes on a conveyance path that is not related to transaction operations depends on the type of transaction selected by the customer, ie, whether the operation mode is a deposit processing system or a withdrawal processing system, and whether the banknote is detected. Detection is performed by determining whether the detection means is on a conveyance path that is not related to transaction operations. In addition, in order to deal with unmanaged banknotes that suddenly appear midway through the conveyance path related to transaction operations, a banknote counting means is provided for counting the number of banknotes detected by each banknote detection means, and the counting results of these banknote counting means are processed. Detection is performed by comparing the data at predetermined intervals to determine a match. This is because banknotes are transported at a high speed to speed up deposit and withdrawal processing, and the banknotes are transported with multiple bills present between the front and rear banknote detection means, and each banknote is transferred between the front and rear banknotes. This is because it is not easy to compare the detection results.

することは難しい。 In this way, when the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes is detected, the banknote conveyance operation is stopped. The reason for this is that, in the after-work inspection, there is a discrepancy between the actual remaining amount in the storage of the banknote deposit and withdrawal machine and the recorded remaining amount. This is to prevent cash accidents. Banknote deposit and withdrawal machines have means for keeping transaction records such as deposited and withdrawn amounts, but if such records do not match the actual remaining amount of banknotes, it is necessary to investigate the cause. However, in the case of a cash accident due to the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes, it is difficult to investigate the cause of the accident long after the work has occurred.

Whether the unmanaged banknotes belong to the customer,
It was determined whether the issue was caused by the banknote deposit/dispensing machine itself, and measures such as returning customers' banknotes were taken to prevent cash accidents.

ある。(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the above-mentioned conventional treatment of unmanaged banknotes, it takes time and effort to find all remaining banknotes from the conveyance path. Further, even if a stop command is issued, the banknote transport mechanism cannot stop immediately due to inertia. As a result, each banknote moves further from its position at the time the unmanaged banknote was generated, and based on only the remaining position of the banknote and the operating mode of the machine, it is difficult to determine whether the banknote belongs to the customer or whether it came out of the banknote deposit/dispensing machine storage. It is difficult to simply determine whether the paper money was originally mixed into the conveyance path of the bill depositing and dispensing machine due to a jam or the like. For example, if unmanaged banknotes that were accidentally fed out from the storage of a banknote deposit/dispensing machine during the deposit operation mode are moving to the conveyance path that is also used for deposits and withdrawals and also passes the input banknotes, then the banknotes are simply transported in the deposit operation mode and the banknotes also pass through the input banknotes. If the banknotes are treated as being inserted by a customer because they were found on the street, a cash accident will occur where the machine is short of one banknote. For this reason, it is necessary to confirm with the customer the number of coins inserted, but if the customer does not correctly declare the number of coins inserted, such cash accidents are likely to occur. In the case of an accident such as a shortage of banknotes, the missing banknotes must be removed from each part of the machine. They have to search every nook and cranny, which puts a heavy burden on the staff.

In addition, the monitoring means is used at the intervals of the operation being executed at the time (in the case of a deposit transaction, it takes in all the inserted banknotes and immediately before asking the customer to confirm the execution of the transaction, and in the case of a withdrawal transaction, it draws out the requested number of bills from the storage and exits the deposit/withdrawal slot). (e.g., immediately before being ejected to a banknote), the number of banknotes counted by each banknote detection means is compared to determine whether the banknotes match or do not match.

At the same time, the position of the remaining banknotes in the conveyance path detected by the banknote detection means and the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes are displayed on the staff operation panel. Then, the printing means prints the number of banknotes detected by each banknote detection unit up to that point on a printing paper in association with each banknote detection unit using the counting results of the banknote counting unit.

During the deposit process, the banknotes that are collectively inserted into the banknote deposit/withdrawal port 7 are separated and conveyed by the separation and conveyance unit 10, and after the authenticity and denomination are determined by the banknote recognition unit 12, the banknotes that are determined to be genuine are genuine. Banknotes determined to be counterfeit bills are accumulated in the primary bill pool 14 and in the primary pool 16 of counterfeit bills, respectively. There are no banknotes left in the separation conveyance unit 10, and all banknotes are transferred to the genuine banknote primary pool 14,
Once accumulated in each of the primary counterfeit bill pools 16, the counterfeit bills are discharged all at once to the bill deposit/withdrawal port 7, the shutter 9 is opened, and the counterfeit bills are returned to the customer. When the customer removes the returned banknote, the amount in the genuine banknote primary pool 14 is displayed on the display means of the customer operation section (not shown), and the customer is requested to confirm the execution of the transaction. When the customer presses a button (not shown) to confirm the transaction, the genuine notes are conveyed all at once from the primary pool 14 via the conveyance path 25 and the customer service drum 8 to the separation conveyance section 10. Here, the banknotes are again separated one by one and fed out, and after the banknote identification unit 12 determines the denomination and fitness, the banknotes are transferred to the transport paths 13, 26,
28, 27, etc., and is transported to the storage safe 20,
21 and 22, respectively.

The wording code and the position code of the remaining banknotes detected by each banknote detection means are transferred. As a result, the conveyance path driving means 62 immediately stops driving each conveyance path. However, each part of the conveyance path driving means continues to operate for a certain period of time due to inertia. During this time, the unmanaged banknotes are transferred to the same transport path 11 as the deposited banknotes via the transport path 27.
There is a possibility that the banknotes may be conveyed to the bank and mixed with deposited banknotes. It is assumed that this unmanaged banknote has now reached the position where it has passed through the banknote detection means C. In this case, since the banknote detection stage C detects this unmanaged banknote, this detection signal is supplied to the transported banknote detection unit 66. As a result, the count storage means corresponding to the banknote detection means C is counted up in the banknote count storage section 67 where the signal indicating that the banknote detection means C has detected a banknote is output from the banknote detection section 66. On the other hand, this signal is also supplied to the main control section 55, and the main control section 55
1 is related to the conveyance of deposited banknotes, so they are not recognized as unmanaged banknotes.

An error number notifying the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes is displayed on the display 47 of the staff operation panel 4 shown in the figure, a message instructing an investigation of unmanaged banknotes is displayed on the text display 48, and a remaining banknote display 49 displays Displays the remaining position of the banknote detected by each banknote detection means when the occurrence of an unmanaged banknote is detected. The remaining banknote display 49 indicates the remaining position by lighting up a light emitting diode 54 embedded in a display board which has a pattern of the transport path of the banknote deposit/dispensing machine 3, the banknote stacking section, etc. The position of this light emitting diode 54 in the display board is a part of the above-mentioned banknote detection means B, C, ..., M and the primary pool 14,
16, a banknote accumulation location such as the separating and conveying unit 10, and the position of the banknote identification unit 12. Therefore, the clerk can easily know the remaining position of the banknotes by looking at the remaining banknote display 49, making it easier to collect the remaining banknotes.

There are 9 pieces. Based on this print data, the clerk detects that unmanaged banknotes are generated near the banknote detection means L, and from the count of banknote detection means B, 10 of the banknotes inserted by the customer are separated and conveyed, and the banknote detection means C is detected as 11.
10 sheets for banknote detection means D, 9 sheets for banknote detection means E
You can see that it has passed. Thereby, the clerk infers that the above-mentioned unmanaged banknote has slipped into the conveyance path of the banknote detection means C after its generation. Then, the staff member confirms with the customer the number of bills inserted, and compares it with the number of remaining bills collected from the bill deposit/withdrawal machine 3 to confirm that there is one more bill remaining, and confirms that the aforementioned unmanaged bills were generated from the machine. to decide. Furthermore, since the number of bills counted by the bill detection means C is one more than the number of bills counted by the detection means B and D before and after the bill detection means C, the staff determines that the bills remaining near the bill detection means C are unmanaged bills.

For example, in a deposit transaction operation, when all the inserted banknotes are separated and conveyed and accumulated in the primary pool 14 or 16, the main control unit 55 detects the banknotes from the banknote count storage unit 67 using the banknote detection means B, C, . . . , M. The counted number of bills is read out, and the counted numbers of bill detection means related to each other on the conveyance path are compared. All banknotes that have passed through the banknote detection means B are passed through the banknote detection means C,
It should pass through D and E. Therefore, if the operation is normal, the counts of each of these banknote detection means will match, and if the count of the banknote detection means at the later stage is greater than the number of banknotes counted at the banknote detection means at the previous stage, it means that unmanaged banknotes have occurred between them. . When the occurrence of unmanaged banknotes is detected, the main control unit 55 performs the same operation as described above, and the conveyance operation is stopped while the banknotes remain accumulated in the primary pools 14 and 16. The clerk collects the remaining banknotes from the primary pools 14 and 16 and counts the number of banknotes, and on the other hand, confirms and cross-checks the number of banknotes thrown in with the customer to confirm how many banknotes the collected remaining banknotes are. Furthermore, looking at the count statement 5b, for example, the banknote detection means B
If the counted number of bills is 10, and the counted number of bill detection means C is 11, it is determined that an unmanaged bill has occurred between bill detection means B and C, and the counted number is compared with the number of collected bills, and the Confirm that the unmanaged banknotes were generated from the device. Even if the customer misunderstands and declares the number of inserted bills to be higher than the actual number, the number of bills inserted by the customer can be determined from the number of bills counted by the bill detection means B. Although it is difficult to identify which banknotes are unmanaged in this case, banknotes that suddenly appear in the middle of the conveyance path instead of near the banknote storage safe are usually jammed or otherwise jammed between mechanical parts of the conveyance path. Because many of these banknotes have been previously used, they can often be distinguished from banknotes inserted by customers by their wrinkles and damage.
