Figures 1 and 2 show an outline of a curved continuous casting machine. Guide rolls 2 are arranged below the water-cooled mold 1, and a continuous slab 3 continues from a curved path to a horizontal path.
Configure the taxiway. A driving pinch roll 4 is included in the two rows of guide rolls. Before the start of casting, a dummy bar 5 made of elements connected in a chain shape to have flexibility is inserted into the roll row path, a head block 7 is attached to the head element 6, and the dummy bar 5 is placed at a predetermined position in the mold 1. Then, start pouring molten steel from tandate 8. The solidified part of the molten steel in the mold 1 reaches the head block 7.
When the slab 3 is tied, the pinch roll 4 is driven to remove the slab 3.
is continuously pulled out from the mold 1 and guided and transferred through the rolls 2 and 4. In the continuous slab 3, the molten metal 3b is surrounded by a solidified shell 3a, and solidification progresses gradually during the transition. In order to facilitate the bending of the continuous slab 3, a water-cooled mold 1' having a curved shape itself as shown in FIG. 3 may be used.

In most cases, the dummy bar 5 is charged by an upper charging device using a charging car or the like. In this case, as shown in FIG. 4, a tail block 10 having an inclined tip is permanently attached to the tail element 9 at the lower end of the dummy bar 5, so that the guide roll 2 is bent under the action of gravity.
There is no difficulty in charging as the process progresses by overcoming this.

However, in an emergency when a failure occurs in the upper charging device, it is necessary to charge the dummy bar 5 from below without delay, which necessitates the installation of a lower charging device. In this case, the pinch roll 4 is driven to rotate in the opposite direction, and the dummy bar 5 moves in the opposite direction. In order to prevent the leading head element 6 or head block 7 from hitting and supporting the curved rolls 2 and 4, a dummy bar guide roller 11 is provided between the rolls 2 and 4 in addition to the guide roll 2. Under normal conditions, it is in the retracted position (see arrow a in Figure 1) where it does not come into contact with the slab 3, but in an emergency for downward charging, it is moved to the guiding position (see arrow b in Figure 5) and the head is moved. It is adapted to guide the element 6 or head block 7.

The present invention has been made in order to solve the problems of the prior art described above, and eliminates the need for the guide roller 11 that was conventionally indispensable for lower charging of the dummy bar of a curved continuous casting machine. After eliminating the adverse effects, in order to smoothly advance the downward charging dummy bar through the curved path of the roll row, a guide block is attached to the head element 6 or head block 7 and downward charging is carried out. The leading block is removed to form a head block 7.

According to the above, the method for downward charging of dummy bars in a curved continuous casting machine of the present invention includes a guide block removably attached to the head element of the dummy bar in order to charge the dummy bars downward into the guide roll row of the curved continuous casting machine. The leading body has an inclined guide surface cut out at a relatively large angle from the front side to the side corresponding to the outside of the curved path of the guide roll row, and is large enough to allow the guide roll to run onto the adjacent guide roll. The present invention is characterized in that it forms and performs downward charging.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to FIGS. 6 to 10 attached hereto. Figures 6-8 are representative example leading blocks 1 used to carry out the method of the present invention.
2 is shown attached to the head element 6.
It is necessary that the leading block 12 can be easily, quickly and reliably attached to and detached from the head element 6 of the dummy bar 5 according to its shape. In this example, the head element 6 of the dummy bar 5 has an inclined surface 6b that continues from a right-angled end surface 6a and retreats toward the side corresponding to the outside of the curved path of the guide roll 2.
There are dovetail grooves 1 along these surfaces.
3a and 13b are formed.

The guide block 12 consists of two bodies, a guide body 12A and a mounting seat body 12B, which have a front guide surface 14 that is inclined toward the outside of the guide roll curved path. The mounting seat body 12B has a shape that fits the dovetail groove 13a, and in the fitted state, the downward inclined groove 1
Does not move to 3b. In this example, mounting base 1
2B has four forward-facing mounting studs 15. On the other hand, the guide body 12A has a rear surface formed in a shape that fits the end face of the head element 6, has a bolt hole 16 there, and is attached to the mounting base by screwing a nut 17 into a bolt 15 passing through the bolt hole 16. 12B, head element 6
It can be installed securely without any rattling or shifting.

As described above, according to the method of the present invention, the downward charging of the dummy bar into the curved continuous casting machine can be performed smoothly and quickly in the same way as the upward charging, and the downward charging of the dummy bar in an emergency is possible. shall be. Due to downward charging, guide roller 1, which was previously required and is not regularly used.
1 can be removed, and as a result, the guide rolls 2 can be placed close to each other, and the equipment cost is reduced because guide rollers that are not regularly used are not required.
There is no need for extra maintenance.
