FIG. 2 is an explanatory view showing the state of the embossed pattern 4 formed on the paper 3, which is the base material to be pressed, and the embossed pattern 4 projects smoothly upward.

する。 On the other hand, in addition to the desire to make the embossed pattern 4 as shown in FIG. 2 appear, there is also an embossing process as shown in FIG. Mesh pattern 7 around the pattern 5
There are many requests to make both appear at the same time. The mesh pattern 7 referred to here means that a press plate 9 on which fine protrusions 8 having sharp apex corners and a desired height are arranged in a mesh pattern is used to create a pressed pattern such as paper, aluminum foil, etc. This is a pattern formed on the base material 6 (see FIGS. 3 and 4), in which the pressed base material 6 pressed by the sharp apex of the microprotrusions 8 is partially damaged, resulting in microscopic transparency. A hole 10 is formed. Therefore, the fine protrusions 8 form fine through holes 1 in the pressed base material 6.
The height and sharp apex corner 11 such that 0 is formed
The height and angle of each must be appropriately selected depending on the type and thickness of the substrate to be pressed and the pressing pressure. FIG. 4 shows a press plate 9 having such fine protrusions 8 and embossed pattern forming portions 12, and the embossed pattern and the mesh squash-like pattern around the embossed pattern are formed on the substrate to be pressed. and can appear at the same time. A method of manufacturing such a press plate 9 will be explained below with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 6 is a partial plan view of this original plate 13. The depth of the fine protrusion forming portion 14 and the angle and shape of the apex corner should be set in accordance with the above-mentioned principle. It goes without saying that the cross-sectional shape and arrangement state are not limited to those shown in the drawings.

When a female mold is taken from this press board 15 and a pressed base material such as paper, aluminum foil, copper foil, etc. is inserted between the press board and the female mold and strong pressure is applied, a mesh screen is formed over the entire surface of the pressed base material. A pattern, that is, fine holes are formed in a network shape over the entire surface of the substrate to be pressed.

金を使用すると便利である。 Next, the embedding material 17 is filled into the troughs 16 of the press substrate 15 so that the embedding material 17 is flush with the height of the apex corner 11 of the fine protrusion 8 . (See Figure 8). This step is performed in order to easily and beautifully form the embossed pattern forming portion 12 on the press plate 9. The raised pattern forming section 12 shown in FIG.
Although it is formed by a carving method or an erosion method, if the formation is not performed after filling the troughs 16 with the embedding material, the fine protrusions 8, especially the apex portions 11, may easily collapse during engraving, or the delicate corrosion-resistant film may be damaged during corrosion. This step is provided because it becomes impossible to form the embossed pattern forming portion 12 and, as a result, it becomes impossible to form a good embossed pattern forming portion 12. Embedded material 1
For No. 7, it is convenient to use a low melting alloy that can be melted at a temperature of 80° to 90°C.

きる。 After filling the troughs 16 with the embedding material, the embossed pattern forming portions 12 are created. Specifically, this can be done by hand carving using a chisel or a carving needle, or by forming a corrosion-resistant film using a photosensitive resin using a photographic method and then etching it with a corrosive solution. Therefore, it is necessary to select the material of the embedding material to be used depending on the method of creating the embossed pattern forming portion 12. That is, when using the engraving method, it is necessary to select a material that has good engraving properties, and when using the corrosive method, it is necessary to select an embedding material that is corroded quickly by corrosive liquid and with less occurrence of side etching. When the formation of the embossed pattern forming portions 12 is completed, the embedding material 17 filled in the valley portions 16 is removed, and the desired press plate 9 can be obtained.
