この発明はコネクタハウジングの小型化をはか

グの前端面上壁5からロツクアーム6を後方に屈
折して突設させ、該ロツクアーム6の先端部には
更に押圧部7を突出させ、又、ロツクアーム6の
上面中程にはロツク片8を突出させた構造の雄ハ
ウジングAを、第2図に示した雌ハウジングBの
嵌合孔9に嵌合し、前記雄ハウジングAの上部に
突設したロツクアーム6のロツク片8を雌ハウジ
ング嵌合孔9の先端上壁に設けられた係止片10
に第3図の拡大図に示したように係合せしめてロ
ツクする機構となつていた。しかし、かかるロツ
ク機構を有する従来の雄ハウジングではハウジン
グ本体上壁とロツクアーム6との間に雌、雄ハウ
ジングのロツクを外すために、ロツクアーム6を
下方に変形させるための可成りの幅の空間部11
を必要とし、又、ハウジング本体上壁から端子収
容室内に突設したランス3の先端係止部と上壁内
面との間にもランス3を持ち上げて端子を外す事
が出来るように可成りの空間部12を設ける必要
があつたため、雄ハウジング自体並びに該雄ハウ
ジングを嵌合する雌ハウジングで構成されるコネ
クタハウジングが大型となり、コネクタ設置スペ
ースを増大させ、車載電装品の設置スペースを制
約してしまうという問題があつた。このため、本
発明は上述したロツクアームを変形させるための
空間と、端子を外すためにランスを持ち上げられ
るように形成した空間とに着目したもので、コネ
クタハウジングを小型化するために、雄、雌ハウ
ジングの係止用突起を設けるハウジング外壁を可
撓性に形成し、前記外壁の下方に空隙を介して端
子係止用の可撓性係止腕を片持支持したものであ
