To explain this in the case of automatic deposit machines,
When it is confirmed that the inserted card is the customer's official card, the shutter of the banknote slot opens to allow banknotes to be inserted. Therefore, the customer inserts multiple banknotes in mixed denominations at the same time to make the desired amount, and the banknotes are peeled off one by one and sent to the verification department, where both denominations and denominations are checked for authenticity. The banknotes that are verified as genuine banknotes are stored in a temporary storage unit, and after the transaction is completed, they are stored in a safe unit, and the amount of the inserted banknotes is recorded by a printer, and a slip is issued. .

For example, in an automatic teller machine, bills are put into a conveyance path from an input slot and stopped once at a position facing a feed roller provided along the conveyance path. The banknotes that have been verified are classified according to the results of the verification and stored in a store section (genuine banknotes) and a pool section (defective banknotes). After all banknotes have been verified, the banknotes in the store section are stored. A system is generally used in which the banknotes are stored in a box and the banknotes in the pool are returned all at once to a return slot through a return path. For example, JP-A-53-

The banknotes 40 fed out one by one by the banknote feeding device 2 in this way are delivered to the discrimination section 3 through the conveyance path 37, but in this case, one guide plate 38 constituting the conveyance path 37 is made swingable. established,
If the fed-out bill 40 is jammed in this vicinity, the guide plate 38 is pushed by the deformation force of the jammed bill and swings in the direction of retreating from the conveyance path 37. It is possible to detect the occurrence of a jam by detecting the movement using a sensor or the like. Further, when the apparatus is stopped by this jam detection signal and the jammed banknote is taken out, the guide plate 38 is open, so that the jammed banknote can be easily taken out. Note that 39 is a separation roller that rotates counterclockwise in the figure to prevent double feeding when paying out banknotes.

If the discrimination result is "good", the good banknotes 40 output from the discrimination section 3 are compressed and conveyed by the conveyors 4 and 5, and the conveyance path is switched by the gate 6 as shown in FIG. 2a. The belt 10 and the conveyor 11 are deformed by the banknotes 40 as shown in FIG. 2b.
It is then conveyed downward into the store section 15. The store section 15 is provided with a support plate 51 that is inclined to the left with respect to the vertical plane, and a conveyor 12 that includes a movable belt 52 that is inclined downward to the left with respect to the horizontal plane and runs in the direction of the arrow. There, the leading edge of the banknote 40 conveyed into the store section 15 collides with the movable belt 52 and is shifted to the back side of the store section 15 by the movable belt 52. It is possible to create a gap for the banknotes 40 to prevent jamming and store the banknotes 40 in an organized state by supporting them approximately vertically on the support plate 51. However, in this example, the belt 10
As shown in FIG.
Storage of 0 is further ensured. When all the inserted banknotes have been verified and all the "good" banknotes are stored in the store section 15, the pusher 16 driven by the pantograph mechanism 53 moves forward to the right as shown by the chain line in FIG. The banknotes are stored in the paper sheet storage box 17. Note that when the user wishes to collect the banknotes that have been inserted, the user performs a predetermined operation to move the conveyors 11 and 13 toward the position shown by the chain line in FIG. 11 and 13 and conveyed to the conveyor 7
and the rollers 8, the details of which will be explained next with reference to FIG.
