Conventionally, in copying machines, etc., the load on the drive source that moves the paper feed tray up and down is high for paper feed devices in which the paper feed tray rises as the number of sheets decreases on the paper feed tray. It varies depending on the amount of paper. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 1, when the amount of paper b on paper feed tray a is large, the overrun amount, which is h, increases as the amount of paper b decreases, as shown in h' in Fig. 2. There were problems such as deteriorating paper running performance and causing paper jams.

The present invention was made with the aim of improving such problems, and it provides a paper feed device for a copying machine or the like in which the amount of overrun remains constant even if the amount of paper on the paper feed tray changes. The aim is to improve the running performance of the paper and prevent paper jams.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in FIG. The paper feed tray 3 is configured to be moved up and down via a winding belt 10 by a drive means (not shown). 4
is a sheet of paper stored on the paper feed tray 3, and is fed one sheet at a time from above along the conveying surface A by a paper feed roller 5 installed above the paper feed tray 3. When the number of sheets 4 decreases as the sheets are fed, the sheet feed tray 3 is raised by a driving means (not shown).

On the other hand, 6 is a load correction device, for example, a tension spring 7.
It is made up of. One end of the tension spring 7 is fixed to the bottom of the outer frame 2, and the other end is tied to one end of a wire 9 that bypasses a pulley 8 supported on the bottom of the outer frame 2. The other end of the wire 9 is fixed to the bottom surface of the paper feed tray 3, and as the paper feed tray 3 rises, the downward biasing force is increased to compensate for the reduction in load due to the reduction in paper 4. It's becoming like that.

However, each time a copy is made by a copying machine or the like (not shown), paper 4 is fed onto the paper feed tray 3 from above, and when the paper 4 decreases as the paper is fed, the paper feed tray 3 is moved by a drive source (not shown). be raised. At this time, an overrun h occurs in which the upper surface of the uppermost sheet 4 rises above the conveyance surface A due to inertia accompanying the rise of the paper feed tray 3 and the paper 4 on the tray. Conventionally, this overrun h tended to increase as the load applied to the drive source decreased, but in the present invention, a load correction device 6 is provided in which the paper feed tray 3 is urged downward by a spring 7, and the overrun h is increased. Even if the number of sheets of paper 4 on the paper tray 3 decreases, the load applied to the drive source remains constant, so as shown in FIG. This is almost the same as when there are many numbers, and stable running performance of the paper 4 can be obtained.

5 and 6 show another embodiment of the load correction device 6, in which a plurality of tension springs 11 are stretched diagonally or vertically between the bottom of the outer frame 2 and the bottom of the paper feed tray 3. You may. Further, the paper feed tray 3 may be biased downward using a compression spring 12 as shown in FIG. 7 or a spiral spring 13 as shown in FIG. A compression spring 14 may be provided between the upper part of the frame 2 and the paper feed tray 3.

As described in detail above, this invention biases the paper feed tray downward with a spring so that even if the number of sheets on the paper tray decreases, the load applied to the drive source that moves the paper feed tray up and down remains constant. Since a load correction device is installed, the amount of overrun caused by the rise of the paper tray can always be kept constant, which not only improves paper running performance but also reliably prevents paper jams. It becomes like this.
