大きさに合せて裁断したマツト状の吸音体を外板
内面にセツトし、その内側から多孔内板をかぶせ
てその周縁を外板に溶接固着するものであるが、
吸音体の変形等による密度のバラツキ及び溶接す
る際の内板の位置ずれを生じやすく、それらは品
質不安定の原因となる。

によつて保形されるから、形くずれすることがな
く外板内面への装填が容易である。また金網2の
フランジ2aを半割状外板3の向い合せフランジ
3a,3a間に挟んで固着したから、吸音体1を
簡単・確実に組付けることができる。しかも吸音
体1は外板3の内周面全面に装填され、金網2の
弾力で全体に平均したやや圧縮状態に保持される
から、前記従来のように吸音体の密度にバラツキ
を生ずることがなく、しかも位置ずれするような
ことがないもので、消音性能のよい消音器を簡
単・安価に量産できる効果がある。

音体の折曲げフランジ部を外板の開口縁に形成し
た合せフランジ部に重ね合せ、 上記の加工をした一対の半割状外板を向かい合
せて半割状外板のフランジ部間に金網のフランジ
部を重ね合せて一体に溶接等で固着した内燃機関
の消音器の製造方法。
