本発明は、テニス、バトミントン、スカツシユ
等のラケツトにおけるガツトに関するものであ
る。 近年、テニス等のプレーにおいては、速い打球
を身につけることがプレーヤーの重要な課題とな
つている。その1つの手段として、テニスの場合
には大型ラケツトが出現し、広く普及してきた
が、ガツトについても、従来の1.4mm〜1.5mmの直
径のものでは打球のハイスピード化に対応できな
いことから、細ゲージガツトの出現が望まれてい
る。しかし、従来の直径より細いゲージにするこ
とは、ガツトの強度低下を招き、ラケツトへの張
設の際の張力に耐えられないばかりか、打球力に
も耐えることができなくなり、実現が困難であつ
た。 本発明はこの点に鑑みてなされたもので、細ゲ
ージタイプでありながら高強力を有するガツトを
提供することを目的とする。そこで、本発明の特
徴とするところは、合成樹脂モノフイラメントよ
りなるガツト主体の周囲に、細い合成樹脂モノフ
イラメントよりなる多数の外層糸を巻き付けて接
着した構造のガツトにおいて、上記ガツト主体と
なる合成樹脂モノフイラメントが、炭化ケイ素又
はチタン酸カリウムのウイスカーを含有したポリ
アミド樹脂からなると共に、該ウイスカーのアス
ペクト比を30〜300とし、かつ、その平均繊維長
さを10〜200μmに設定した点にある。 以下、実施例を示す図面に基づいて本発明を詳
説する。 図は本発明の一実施例を示すガツトの横断面図
であり、図中1は太い合成樹脂モノフイラメント
よりなる芯体即ちガツト主体、2……は該ガツト
主体1の周囲に巻き付けて接着された多数の外層
糸であつて、細い合成樹脂モノフイラメントより
なる。したがつて、ガツト主体1と外層糸2……
でガツト3は構成され、図例ではさらに外層糸2
……の上から樹脂コーテイング4が外周全体に施
されている。 そして、ガツト主体1となる合成樹脂モノフイ
ラメントは具体的にはポリアミド樹脂からなると
共に、該ポリアミド樹脂はウイスカーを含有して
おり、充填される該ウイスカーはアスペクト比30
