Socket part of earthquake-resistant bell pipe shown in Figure 1
When forming a plastic tube socket part such as Pa, which has a bulge part Pa1 for fitting an elastic ring (not shown) from the inside, a flange-like part is attached to one end as shown in the same figure. A mold comprising a first mold 1 having a raised portion 1a, a second mold 2 and a guide 3 is used. The first mold 1 is a split mold in which a plurality of segments 11 as shown in FIG. cage, cone 1
The first mold 1 is contracted or expanded by moving in the radial direction when the mold 2 is moved in the axial direction. Reference numeral 11a denotes a circumferential protrusion formed on the outer circumferential surface of one end of the segment 11, and constitutes a part of the raised portion 1a. Each segment 11 further includes vacuum suction holes 1 that open at both bases of the circumferential protrusion 11a.
1b is formed, and the vacuum suction hole 11b is
It is connected to a vacuum pump (not shown) via piping 4. Note that both the first mold 1 and the second mold 2 have a built-in heater (not shown).

When processing the socket part Pa, the first mold 1
is expanded in diameter until it has an outer diameter d 1 larger than the outer diameter d 2 of the second mold 2, and then a plastic tube P that has been preheated and softened is placed on the first mold 1 via the guide 3. The tube end is pushed into the second mold 2 until a predetermined length thereof protrudes toward the second mold 2 side. Next, by driving the vacuum pump to apply a negative pressure to the vacuum suction hole 11b, the plastic tube P is brought into close contact with the raised portion 1a to form the bulged portion Pa1 .
When the heating temperature is low, even if vacuum is applied, the plastic tube P is deformed by suction at the rear part x of the raised part 1a and comes into close contact with the raised part 1a, but in the front part, the tube end is not closed. Because there is no vacuum suction force acting on the plastic tube P, it does not deform as shown by the dotted line in Figure 1, and the bulge part
I can't get Pa 1 . However, when the heating temperature is increased, the sliding resistance between the plastic tube P and the first mold 1 increases, and the plastic tube P
There was a problem in that buckling a occurred during the process of pushing and fitting into the mold, making molding impossible.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, and includes the step of fitting a plastic tube into a mold by expanding the diameter of a first mold and fitting it into the mold.
By dividing the first mold into two stages of reducing the diameter and sending the plastic pipe to the second mold, the plastic tube can be fitted into the mold so that the end of the plastic tube circumscribes the second mold, Next, by enlarging the diameter of the first mold and evacuating it, the allowable range of heating temperature for the plastic tube is wider than in the past, making it possible to mold a socket portion of a predetermined shape with a high yield. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for processing the ends of plastic pipes.

Figures 3A to 3D show the method of processing the socket portion in the order of steps. First, as shown in A, the diameter of the first mold 1 is expanded until the outer diameter of the raised portion 1a becomes larger than the outer diameter of the second mold 2 by a predetermined length, and the preheated plastic tube P is heated. The end portion is pushed into the first mold 1 via the guide 3. This push-fitting operation is stopped when the tube end is near a portion of the raised portion 1a, for example, near the top. Next, as shown in FIG.
After reducing the diameter until it becomes at least the same as the outer diameter of the second mold 2, the plastic tube P is further
Send it to the mold 2 side. In this case, since the distance between the top of the raised part 1a and the second mold 2 is small, the tube end of the plastic tube P smoothly transfers from the raised part 1a to the second mold 2. As shown by the dotted line in FIG. ,
Expand the diameter. During this time, the end portion P'a is transferred to the second mold 2.
keep it closed. When this second diameter expansion is completed, the vacuum is drawn as described above, but since the end portion P′a is closed as described above, the space between the raised portion 1a and the second mold 2 at the tube end is The vacuum suction force F also acts on the part. Therefore, since the plastic pipe P is circumscribed on the entire circumferential surface of the first mold 1 with the end portion P′a circumscribing the second mold 2, the socket portion Pa
is formed. Next, after this socket part Pa is water-cooled and hardened, the first mold 1 is removed and the socket part Pa is removed from the mold.

Incidentally, in the above embodiment, evacuation is performed after expanding the diameter of the first mold again, but it is clear that the same effect can be obtained even if evacuation is performed while expanding the diameter.

As described above, according to the present invention, when fitting the end of a plastic tube into a mold, it is divided into two stages,
After expanding the diameter of the first mold and fitting the pipe end into the first mold, the diameter is once reduced and fitting the end portion of the pipe end into the second mold, and then the first mold is fitted again. By expanding the diameter, the diameter is expanded again while the end portion is closed with the second mold, and when vacuuming is performed, the vacuum suction force also acts on the end portion. Therefore, even if the heating temperature of the tube end is somewhat low, a socket of the desired shape can be obtained, and the allowable range of heating temperature is wider than before, so the socket can be formed economically with high yield. Can be molded.
