In order to improve the performance, the bill running surface and the detection section were in close contact with each other, and in order to prevent the bill from wobbling, the bill running surface and the detection section were fixed by keeping a narrow gap of about 2 to 3 bill thicknesses between the bill running surface and the detection section. .

要以上に回転しないためのストツパである。 In FIGS. 1 to 3, the detection unit base 8 has fulcrums 9a and 9b on both sides, and is rotatable about the fulcrums 9a and 9b. The detection unit base 8 is abutted against a stopper 10 by a spring 14, and is connected to the outer peripheral surface of the drum 6, which is the bill running surface, and the bill 2.
They are installed to maintain a gap of about 3 sheets. The stopper 10 is fixed to frames 16a and 16b. A roller 12a and a roller 12b are arranged opposite the conveyor belt 2a and the conveyor belt 3a, and the conveyor belt 2c and the conveyor belt 3c, respectively, and the conveyor belt 2
When the banknote 15 is sandwiched between the transport belts 3 and transported, the distance between the transport belt 3a and the roller 12a and between the transport belt 3c and the roller 12b is larger than the gap B between the banknote detection unit 7 and the surface of the banknote 15. The rollers 12a and 12b are installed in the banknote detection section 7 so that the gap A becomes small. Reference numeral 11 denotes a stopper for preventing the detection unit base 8 from rotating more than necessary.

A single banknote inserted into the banknote recognition device 1 shown in the figure from the direction of the arrow Xa is conveyed between the conveyor belts 5, and then transferred to the conveyor belts 2 and 3, passing through the outer peripheral surface of the drum 6. and arrow direction
Transported to Xb. At this time, as shown in FIG. 3, there is a gap B between the conveyance belt 3a and the roller 12a, and between the conveyance belt 3c and the roller 12b, so the banknote detection section 7 is not affected by the running of the banknote 15. Moreover, the running of the banknotes 15 is also extremely smooth.
When the banknotes 15 pass through the banknote detection unit 7, the authenticity of the banknotes, the integrity and damage, the front and back sides of the banknotes, etc. are determined. Next, when several banknotes are piled up and conveyed into the device from the arrow direction Xa, the banknotes are sandwiched between the conveyor belts 2 and 3 via the conveyor belt 5 and reach the banknote detection section 7. transported. Hereinafter, referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, when several banknotes are piled up as described above, the conveyor belt 3a and the conveyor belt 3c are pushed up by the thickness of the banknotes, and the conveyor belt 3a moves to the roller 12a. The conveyor belt 13c is the roller 12b
are in contact with each other. Therefore, the rotation of the conveyor belts 3a, 3c is transmitted to the rollers 12a, 2b, and rotates around the fulcrums 13a, 13b in the arrow direction (second direction).
Push up the banknote detection unit 7 in the direction of the arrow Z while rotating it in the figure). Therefore, no matter what kind of banknotes are conveyed, the gap between the banknote detection unit 7 and the banknotes is maintained. After the banknote has passed, the banknote detection unit 7 returns to its original position due to the restoring force of the spring 14.

A roller 12 is placed at a position facing the conveyor belt 3a.
a, a roller 12 at a position facing the conveyor belt 3c;
Since the rollers 12a and 12b are arranged so that the gap A between the conveyor belt 3a and the roller 12a and between the conveyor belt 3c and the roller 12b is smaller than the gap B between the banknote detection unit 7 and the surface of the banknote 15, The banknote detection unit 7 does not come into contact with banknotes even if several banknotes are piled up or folded and transported, and no load is applied to each other. Furthermore, due to the distance B between the rollers 12a, 12b and the conveyor belts 3a, 3c, when several bills overlap, the detection unit 7
Since the detection unit is configured to maintain a stationary state when there is only one banknote by rotating the banknote, there is an advantage that stable banknote recognition is possible. In addition, the rollers 12a and 12b that push up the banknote detection unit 7 include a conveyor belt 3a running for conveyance,
Since the rollers do not come into direct contact with the banknotes due to the contact with the conveyor belt 3c, the banknotes run extremely smoothly because they are not affected by the inertial load of the rollers when the banknotes rush into the rollers, and the banknotes are not affected by the negative effects of running due to the rollers. The banknote detection unit 7 escapes without being affected at all. Therefore, there is an advantage that bill jamming does not occur in the bill detection section. Furthermore, the present invention detects the thickness of the banknote at the part where the banknote is pressed by the belt, so that wrinkles, folds, etc. of the banknote are minimized by the belt press. It is possible to protect the banknote detection unit from vibrations and the like when the banknotes are in transit.
