本発明は断面角形状の無端素材から無端丸パツ
キンを製造する方法に関し、更に詳しくは、全長
にわたり斎一な真円度及び断面寸法を備える無短
丸パツキンまたはOリングを製造し得る方法を提

に、周面に材料供給溝2を周設された駆動軸1

け、無端素材5の中央部に配置した押圧手段7に
より、無端素材5をその運動方向と交差する方向
に押圧して無端素材5に捻転を生起させながら、
駆動軸1に対し離接自在に配置した研削砥石9に
より断面円形状に研削する方法(特公昭47−
32310号公報参照)或いは第2図に示すように、
断面角形状の無端素材5を駆動軸1と従動軸3に
8字状に交差させて巻掛けることにより、無端素
材5に捻転を生起させて研削砥石9により断面円
形状に研削する方法(特公昭55−23142号公報参
照)が知られているが、上記した無端丸パツキン
の製造方法のいずれにおいても、無端素材5の捻
転が全断面において必ずしも斎一に生じないため
に、全長にわたつて均一な真円度及び寸法精度が
得られることを期待し得なかつた。すなわち、第
1図の製造装置においては、押圧手段7が固定さ
れ、又第2図のものにおいては、無端素材5の交
差位置が固定されていることにより、無端素材5
の捻転がほゞ定常状態に保たれ、しかし捻転角度
が無端素材5の長さ方向に沿つて、一定の周期の
もとに変化する傾向を示すために、研削後の断面
形状が長さ方向に沿つて不斎一になり、パツキン
として使用した際に、全長にわたつて均一なシー

矢印Cをもつて示す方向の揺動を付与するか、或
いは上記した往復運動及び揺動を適宜の組合せで
付与して、駆動軸1の材料供給溝2に進入する無
端素材5の捻転を非定常状態に保つことにより、
無端素材の全周面を均等に研削砥石周面に接触さ
せて、研削による無端丸パツキンが全長にわたつ
て正確な円形断面及び寸法精度を示し得るごとく
構成するものである。従動軸を軸方向に移動させ
る手段としては、駆動軸の回転に連動するピスト
ン装置、カム機構、クランク機構等が使用され、
従動軸を揺動させる手段としては、従動軸を揺動
可能に支える支承手段に対し駆動軸の回転に連動
するカム機構、クランク機構等を付設する構成が
