The crack pattern surface is mainly used to enhance the decorative effect.
It has been formed on the surface of various substrates. For example, crack pattern surfaces have been formed on plastics, metals, glass, ceramics, paper, etc. using methods suitable for each material. That is, for plastics, it is formed by appropriately selecting the molding process and the heating temperature during molding (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 55-27879), and for metals, it is formed by etching means, glass, etc.
Cracks have been formed on ceramics by applying special glazes and firing methods, and on paper by embossing and rolling (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 7836/1983). . Various base materials with cracked surfaces obtained in this way can be used for containers, decorative laminates,
It is applied to a wide variety of fields such as furniture, interior goods, accessories, decorative glass, cabinets for electrical appliances, automobile parts, binding for books, notebooks, etc., and marking on business cards, postcards, etc. However, as mentioned above, the manufacturing method differs depending on the various base materials, and those using special methods require a lot of time and skill on the part of the workers, and when using molds for molding, the cost is high. There were some flaws that made me get used to it. In particular, it required a complicated process to express only the patterns and characters with crack patterns.

In view of the above-mentioned current situation, the present inventors have completed the present invention as a result of various research and considerations. That is, in the present invention, after forming the curable resin layer 2 on the surface of the base material 1, and after or before making the curable resin layer 2 into a semi-cured state by treatment such as heating, the curable resin layer 2 is coated. Partially water-soluble resin layer 3
is formed, and then cracks are generated by bringing an organic solvent into contact with the surface of the curable resin layer 2,
After that, the curable resin layer 2 is completely cured by a treatment such as heating, a metal vapor deposition layer 4 is provided thereon, and then the metal vapor deposition layer 4 is laminated thereon together with the water-soluble resin layer 3 by washing with water. This is a method for producing a base material having a cracked metal pattern surface, which is characterized in that the layer 4 is removed and then a protective layer 5 is provided if necessary.

First, a curable resin layer 2 is formed on a necessary portion of the surface of the base material 1 by means of coating, dipping, printing, spraying, or the like using a curable resin (see FIG. 1). The curable resin herein means a resin that is cured by treatment such as heating, ultraviolet irradiation, electron beam irradiation, and X-ray irradiation. Examples include thermosetting resins such as melamine and acrylic, and ultraviolet curable resins such as urethane acrylate and polyester acrylate.

The formed curable resin layer 2 is subjected to the above-mentioned heating or other treatment for curing the resin used to bring the curable resin layer 2 into a semi-cured state. The semi-cured state is the state before complete hardening, and the processing temperature,
By appropriately adjusting treatment intensity, time, etc., the desired degree of hardening can be achieved.

After the curable resin layer 2 is brought into a semi-cured state, it is brought into contact with an organic solvent such as ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, etc. by coating, dipping, printing, spraying, or the like. In this step, cracks are formed on the surface of the curable resin layer 2 in areas where the water-soluble resin layer is not provided (see FIG. 2). The cause of this cracking is not certain, but the relatively uncured parts of the semi-cured resin are dissolved and removed by contact with the organic solvent, and at the same time the hardening progresses. It is presumed that the portion formed by the resin is condensed by the condensation force inside the resin, and is formed by mutual action. A crack pattern with different roughness appears depending on the degree of curing in the semi-cured state and the solvent treatment conditions.

A coloring agent such as a dye or a pigment may be appropriately mixed in the curable resin layer 2 in advance. Further, a colored ink layer may be provided on the curable resin layer 2 and the water-soluble resin layer 3. In this case, the colored ink is the water-soluble resin layer 3.
A dye solution is suitable since the upper part will be removed later.

Next, a metal vapor deposition layer 4 is provided on the entire surface of the curable resin layer 2 (see FIG. 3). Thereafter, the water-soluble resin layer 4 is removed by washing or the like. At this time, unnecessary metal vapor deposition layer 5 is removed (see FIG. 4). Furthermore, if necessary, a protective layer 5 is provided by applying a resin such as acrylic resin or vinyl resin thereon (see FIG. 5).

Since the present invention is a method for manufacturing a base material having a crack pattern surface as described above, it can be applied to various base materials and can easily produce patterns and characters in which the registration of the metallic luster pattern and the crack pattern match. It is. Since the process is relatively simple, it can be easily carried out without special skill, and by appropriately selecting the resin and processing conditions, it is easy to obtain a crack pattern with the desired roughness. Can be applied to any purpose.
