(B. Summary of the Invention) The headlamp leveling device of the present invention has a movable member that is interposed between an electric motor and a headlamp and transmits the movement of the electric motor to the headlamp. By arranging the motor's auto-stop switch in parallel, and by forming the fixed contact piece of the motor auto-stop switch to extend in the direction of movement of the terminal provided on the movable member, the entire device can be miniaturized and the structure simplified. This is what made it possible.

(C. Background art and its problems) In a car, the car body and wheels are connected by a suspension system consisting of leaf springs, coil springs, etc., so if a large load is applied to the front or rear side of the car body, , the vehicle body will be tilted forward or backward, and the standard illumination angle of the headlights relative to the road surface will change, impairing driving safety. There is a risk of causing severe dazzle to the driver of the car.

(b. Operation) Next, the operation of the head lamp leveling device of the present invention configured as described above will be explained. First, this device is fixed near the installation position of the headlamp 14 of the automobile, and the ball joint 7 is connected to the retaining ring 15 holding the headlamp 14 via the universal joint rod 16. A changeover switch 13 is provided at the driver's seat.

In this state, if a load is applied to the rear side of the car and the rear side of the car sinks, causing the optical axis of the headlamp 14 to point upwards from the standard irradiation angle, move the movable contact piece 13a of the changeover switch 13 to the down side, that is, fix it. Connect the contacts sa 1 and sa 2 as shown by the broken lines in Figure 4. Then, the movable contact 9 of the auto-stop switch 8 touches the fixed contact 11.
Since a and 11b are short-circuited, the power supply circuit for forward rotation of the motor 2 is closed, and the motor 2 is started in the forward rotation direction. When the electric motor 2 is rotated in the normal rotation direction, this rotation rotates the feed screw 4 in the screwing direction via the reduction gear 3 and the output shaft 2a. Along with this, the mover 5 moves backward in the direction of being drawn into the casing 1, pulls the lower end of the retaining ring 15 connected via the ball joint 7 toward the casing 1, and rotates the headlamp 14 in the forward tilting direction. At the same time, the movable contact 9 attached to the movable element 5
moves rearward while slidingly contacting the fixed contact piece of the substrate 10. And each contact 9a to 9c of the movable contactor 9
When the contact point 9b comes off from the fixed contact piece 11b as shown by the broken line in FIG. 3, the power supply circuit of the motor 2 is opened and the motor 2 is automatically stopped. As a result, the optical axis of the headlamp 14, which is pointing upward, is adjusted downward.

In addition, in the above-mentioned state of adjusting the optical axis of the headlamp, if the front side of the vehicle sinks due to the load on the front side, the optical axis of the headlamp 14 becomes downward, the movable contact piece 13a of the changeover switch 13 is moved as shown in FIG. Connect to fixed contacts sb 1 and sb 2 as shown by solid lines. Then, the movable contact piece 9 of the auto-stop switch 8 located at the position indicated by the broken line in FIG.
Since 1a and 11c are short-circuited, motor 2
The reverse power supply circuit is closed, and the electric motor 2 is started in the reverse direction. Then, the feed screw 4 is rotated in the untwisting direction by the reverse rotation operation of the electric motor 2, and therefore, the movable element 5 moves forward so as to protrude from the casing 1 due to the screw action between it and the feed screw 4.
The retaining ring 15 is pushed through the ball joint 7 to rotate the headlamp 14 upward. When the movable element 5 reaches the forward end, the headlamp 14 is corrected to an optical axis suitable for the forward movement of the automobile, and at the same time each contact 9a to 9c of the movable contactor 9, which is slid integrally with the movable element 5, Fixed contact piece 1
1a to 11c are in the state shown by the solid line in FIG. 3, and the contact 9c is separated from the fixed contact piece 11c, so the reverse power supply circuit for the motor 2 is opened and the motor 2 is automatically stopped. .
