する溝Wを掘削していくときのその溝Wの壁面b
に沿い伸長させて第4図の如く真直ぐな棒状に成
育させ、次いでその長いもの根部Rが所定の大き
さに生育したところで、その根部Rのきわに、掘
削作用巾の広い溝掘機により、第5図に示してい
る如く、栽培床Bを形成する溝Wよりも広い巾の
掘取用の溝Yを掘削成形して、その溝Y内に入る
作業員が、根部Rをこの溝Y内に掘出することに
より収穫するようにし、そして、この収穫作業に
用いた掘取用の溝Yを、長いもの栽培条列に沿い
