Description
本発明は亙や石盤等のスレート用の塗料に関す
るものである。
スレート用の塗料は住宅建材の中でも特にその
耐久性が要求されている。最近、2液型のアクリ
ルウレタン樹脂系の塗料が出現し静電塗装方法と
相まつて次第に広く採用されつつある。
しかしながら、スレートの亙や石盤は(1)含水率
が金属・プラスチツク等の一般の塗装基材にくら
べて非常に高いこと。(2)表面が著しく多孔質であ
ること。(3)強いアルカリ性であること。以上3点
の性質を持つておりこれらの性質スレートの特性
がアクリルウレタン樹脂系の塗料も含めた一般の
塗料に対して、塗装の作業性、塗装被膜の性態を
低下させている。即ち、該アクリルウレタン樹脂
系塗料は主剤であるアクリルポリオールとイソシ
アナートを主体とする架橋剤を混合して使用する
ものであるが、このイソシアナートは容易に水と
反応して炭酸ガスを発生するという性質があり、
スレートに含まれる水分と反応して炭酸ガスを発
生して塗装被膜に気泡を生じたり更に表面が多孔
質であることも影響してこの被膜に無数の穴がで
きてしまう。従つて該2液型アクリルウレタン樹
脂系塗料は比較的耐久性に優れた塗料であるもの
のスレートに用いる場合にはスレートの素地調整
を極めて厳密に行う必要がある。即ちライン塗装
ではかかる調整工程を設けて厳密な工程管理のも
とに実施できるが現場で塗装する場合にはかかる
素地調整はほとんど不可能である。
本発明者らは、鋭意研究の結果主鎖が実質的に
ポリビニル型結合からなり分子末端又は側鎖に加
水分解性基を結合した珪素原子を有するシリル基
を1分子中に少くとも1個有する重合体又は共重
合体(A)をベースとした塗料が、素地調整を必要と
せず、又ガスを発生して気泡を生じたり穴があい
たりすることのないものであることを見出した。
しかも、該塗料を塗布したスレート塗装物は肉持
ち感にも優れ耐候性も2液型アクリルウレタン樹
脂系塗料よりも優れた結果を得て本発明に至つ
た。
本発明に用いられる樹脂は、主鎖が実質的にビ
ニル系重合体からなり、末端あるいは側鎖に加水
分解性基と結合した珪素基を1分子中に少くとも
1個、好ましくは2個以上含有するものであり、
