DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention mainly involves printing a wood grain pattern or printing a two-color or three-color pattern on a substrate, such as an extruded aluminum alloy or an alloy resin molded product, which has an uneven or curved outer surface. This relates to a printing method suitable for color-coding to enhance the sense of design.
To provide a substrate which can be treated at once even if there are irregularities or curved surfaces on the outer surface of the substrate, and can surely be finished into a desired design without disturbing or blurring the pattern to be expressed.

Conventionally, when expressing, for example, a wood grain pattern on the outer surface of a substrate such as an extruded shape using a printing technique, generally a rubber transfer roll is pressed against a plate roll, and the substrate is pressed against the transfer roll. A method of expressing a desired pattern is known. With this method, even if the outer surface of the substrate is horizontal, gently curved, or has fine irregularities, the transfer roll is made of rubber, so its elasticity allows it to adapt to the outer surface of the substrate and display the pattern. In particular, the shapes used for sash have large irregularities or curved surfaces on their outer surfaces due to their structure or design, and when such substrates are processed using the conventional method described above, the desired pattern cannot be clearly expressed. Therefore, there were drawbacks such as the need to treat the outer surface and the recessed surface separately.

This invention was developed in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks. Printing ink (including paint) is applied to a strip-shaped sheet according to the pattern to be expressed, and the sheet is pressed against a substrate. The sheet is flexible, and when it is pressed against the substrate, it adapts to the unevenness and curved surface and is brought into close contact with the substrate so that the pattern is exposed all at once. It is composed of

Therefore, the method according to the present invention will be specifically explained with reference to an example. As shown in FIG. 1, substrates 2 are placed on a conveyor 1 and sent one by one in sequence. On the other hand, an ink tank 3 is installed above the starting end side of the conveyor 1, an ink drawing roll 4 is installed in the tank 3, a plate roll 5 is attached to the ink drawing roll 4, and a press roll 6 is attached to the plate roll 5. The ink drawing roll 4 and the plate roll 5 are provided in pressure contact with each other.
Apply driving force to the two and rotate them in opposite directions.
Incidentally, a doctor 7 is attached to the plate roll 5 to adjust the adhesion of ink. Therefore, the rolled sheet 8 is sandwiched between the printing roll 5 and the pressure roll 6 and sent out in the same direction as the feeding direction of the substrate 2. The ink is deposited according to the desired pattern. The sheet 8 may be made of vinyl chloride, polyethylene, or the like, which is flexible and does not bleed ink. Next, the ink-applied surface of the sheet 8 to which the ink has been adhered is pressed against the outer surface of the base 2 to adhere the ink to the base 2, and then the sheet 8 is rolled up onto a take-up roll 9 separated by the base 2. Therefore, the sheet 8 is used only once.

By the way, when the base body 2 is stepped like an L-shape as shown in FIG. 2, the sheet 8 is
is bent and brought into close contact according to the shape of the outer surface of the base body 2, as shown in FIG.
First, the first roll 10 of the guide roll group is pressed against the uppermost surface a of the base 2, and the second and third rolls 11, 12
The sheet 8 is bent by pressing both corners b and c of the uppermost surface a of the base body 2, and the fourth roll 13 is applied to the left side surface d of the base body 2, and the fifth roll 14 is applied to the right depressed surface e.
Then, the sixth roll 15 presses the inner corner f of the stepped portion, the seventh roll 16 presses the horizontal surface g of the stepped portion, and the eighth roll 17 presses the right corner h. After pressing, the sheet 8 is pressed against the right side surface f by the ninth roll 18. A holding roll group that presses the sheet 8 against the outer surface of the base body 2 to a position where the sheet 8 is peeled off is provided behind the above-mentioned guide roll group in the traveling direction of the base body 2. The holding roll group includes 10th to 14th rolls 19, 20, 21, 2 that are in pressure contact with the surfaces a, d, e, g, and i of the base body 2.
2 and 23, and the sheet 8 is peeled off after passing this group of holding rolls, so that the pattern is transferred between the group of guide rolls and the group of holding rolls.

As described above, in this invention, ink is attached to a belt-shaped sheet, and the sheet is brought into close contact with the outer surface of a conveying substrate according to its shape by a group of guide rolls corresponding to the bent or curved surface of the substrate. This is a method of printing patterns, etc. on the outer surface of the substrate, or printing them in one color or with different colors.Even if the outer surface of the substrate has large unevenness, the sheet can be folded by a group of guide rolls to smooth out the unevenness. Because the ink is applied closely along the surface, patterns such as wood grain can be clearly expressed on uneven surfaces as well as on other horizontal surfaces, and the ink adhesion is uniform on all surfaces, making it possible to clearly express patterns. Moreover, since the pattern is displayed all at once, the pattern can be displayed continuously from the horizontal surface on the uneven portion, and it can be automated and printing efficiency can be improved.
